COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Upland Amber Ale has a malty almond/chocolate taste laced with a lush spicy hop flavor. Creamy body combined with robust maltiness makes this a warming beer indeed.

Bottle courtesy of tjthresh (thanks!) Pours a hazy copper with just a little more than a film of bubbles on the surface. Aromas are driven by caramel and toffee with a little bit of apple juice and pepper. Flavor is about the same. The malt dominates, but there is a little bit of a fruit and spice finish to it that is just pleasant. I liked this quite a bit for a plain old amber.

Rusty amber pour with white head. Aroma of cereal malt, some fruit, light hops. Flavor is fruity and hoppy with a light bitterness in the finish. Solid albeit pedestrian amber.

Bottle received from StFun. Poured a pumpkin orange with a nice 1/2 inch head. Aroma of malt, pepper and a little sweetness. Flavor was spicy, malty and finished a little citrusy. A decent amber.

Pours a amber color with medium off white head. Aroma is nutty, caramel malt with light fruity hop aroma. Taste is caramel malt, slight toasted malt and mild fruit. Light bodied and not anything worth shouting about, but not bad.

Thanks bro. Pours an amber color with a medium off-white head which leaves some lacing. Aroma is nutty malts. Taste is much the same - caramel malts, and nutty malts. Nothing too exciting.

Fairly nice local Amber. I’ve had better, but certainly have also had worse. I dug this one, simple and basic, but nice. The Upland guys make some good local brews, thats for sure. This one pours a nice amber color with a thin head. Aroma is hops, dark fruit, and copper pennies. Flavor also carries that metallic bite, but also has some nice flowers and sugar and fruit. I’d have this one again. A nice session brew.

On draught at the brewpub in Bloomington, Indiana. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film top and a thin off-white ring. Aroma of caramel malt with some dark pitted fruit character, some yeast and a touch of floral hops. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, some tropical fruits and some citrus zest. Finish has a mild bitterness with a light roasted nuts and caramel malt aftertaste.

Objectively speaking: Highly toasty and hoppy amber which could use more of a hop kick.
I like: Appetizing toastiness is the dominant feature and well done at that. Softly fruity, a soft yeast character peaks through the dominatingly malty structure. Strawberry and peaches offer a juiciness that complexifies the otherwise bready taste. Gently mineral which brings it into English territory.
I dislike: A touch of acidity hampers its otherwise interesting malt extraction. Not very hoppy at all, so again, this Upland beer feels a bit on the sweet side of the spectrum. Upland porter 7473 Objectively speaking: Clean and tasty porter that goes both into fruitiness and darker malt flavours.
I like: Not one-dimensional. Clean all throughout. Gentle smoky kiss in the finish ends up a soft chocolate lullaby. Hard to decipher fruitiness stays there all along. Highly drinkable with all this softness. Not overly sweet.
I dislike: Timid light-body. Not all that complex, but straightforwardly well done.
