dark amber, thin white head, light dry malt aroma, solid body, good rich malt flavor, good balancing earthy hop quality without being hoppy, low bitterness, with a touch of sweetness it would make a good scottish ale

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 19, 2007
Bottle courtesy of Acknud. Pours a reddish brown with a nice white head. Smells of tangy malt, roses, some earthy hints, peppery splashes and some sweet malt. Taste lives up to the expectations of the aroma with a nice tart tanginess complimented by some nice sweet malt. One of the better amber ales I’ve had.
2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 12/20 rowefam3 (70) - kendallville, Indiana, USA - AUG 14, 2007
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2007 Tasted more like an American pale ale to me. It was watery though, which actually made it quite drinkable. The carbonation was way over the top. I could not pour this into a glass without an instant explosion of light colored bubbles. The best thing about this brew is the aroma. I think I had just as many sniffs as drinks.
3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 mcox90 (1044) - Wilton, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 5, 2007
12 oz. bottle acquired as a gift from Acknud( thanks Bill ). Pours a copper, caramel color with small white head. No lacing to speak of. Thin watery mouthfeel. Average for style. Tastes a bit spicy, almost as if this were a belgian. Finished dry and no aftertaste. Refreshing brew.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Optigon (562) - Bloomington, Indiana, USA - AUG 3, 2007
Pours clear, brown. Aroma is rather green with hops with a mild malt backing. Thinnish mouth feel with a lot of hop flavor. Not a lot in the way of malt to round it out, but not too bad.

Bottle. Full off white head the rapidly diminishes. Good clear caramel coloring. Finishes well with very slight hoppy aftertaste. Refreshing finish.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 gmcase (115) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2007
Draft. Copper color. Some hop flavor with almond, vanilla, and cedar hints. Watery mouthfeel that finishes somewhat sticky. Not even close to a favorite but somewhat unique for the genre.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DeppityBob (28) - South Bend, Indiana, USA - JUN 7, 2007
Enjoyable thirst-quencher! A little thin on the palate, but this brew would suffer if it were thicker. Mildly hoppy, enough to produce a tang on the tongue but not enough to dry your cheeks out. Sweet but not cloying, tasty with full caramel, almond, and vanilla tones, plus a pleasant bit of clove (must not be much to be pleasant, since I don’t like cloves). Surprisingly bright but rich, with a nice *(stickyish) linger after.
