CaptainCougar (4663), Rockville, Maryland, USA Aug 19, 2007 Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a large, over-carbonated, well-lacing tan head. Aroma is best summarized as burnt chocolate chip cookies. Body starts foamy and lightly dark caramely sweet with a lot of burnt roasty notes throughout. FInishes a little thinner with some lingering black malt, cookie dough, and peppery, spicy hops. This recipe needs a little less of the burnt flavor. hopdog (4645), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 2, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade with atpayne (thanks!). Poured a dark (see through) brown color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, coffee and toffee. Tastes of roast, chocolate, caramel with a light coffee bitter finish. Thinner body. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Mar 27, 2004 Black color with a light tan head and big bubbly spotty lacing. The aroma is well balanced and smooth with some chocolate and coffee with roast. The flavor is mild and smooth, not too bad. Finishes balanced too, this is a nice average porter with some solid flavors.
