COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Creamy chocolate flavors combine with a lightly roasted finish and superb body to balance this traditional brown porter. A fragrant malt/hop aroma and herbaceous hop flavor complete this highly quaffable ale.

Poured into a mini-tulip. A lot of roasty notes, a little earthy nose. The beer was poured out medium brownish. Heavy-ish, dark right at the front. Mid way the body ligthened with a slightly flat finish.

Bottle from beer club. Pours black with medium brown head. Toast to the nose continues to taste along with chocolate and some sweetness, maybe molasses. A little thin for a porter, but overall I liked it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

First of all I wish they would go back to the cranky old man on the bottle instead of the stylized graphic. But anyways, it is a pretty good porter, light on the roasted/burnt toast taste and still has a little hops poking through.

12oz bottle...I’m not a big fan of Porter, but this was smooth, creamy, and drinkable so it was good as far as it goes.

Had a little of my wife’s pint at Dewey’s-Kenwood. Pours a deep, mostly opaque brown with a small tan head and a lasting thick ring. Notes of chocolate, toast, earth, nuts, and some roast that only shows up in the nose. The flavor is a bit weaker. Thin-bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and an earthy mouthfeel. Doesn’t live up to the aroma’s promise. Simple porter.

Dry and basement dank taste. Draft at taps and dolls. Nutty and sweet. Carmel notes and sweet. Pretty decent

Solid beer but nothing special. Too thin and lacking in body. One of the weaker beers by this very underrated brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pretty dry porter with a lot of roasted notes: chocolate and coffee. Not particularly rich, but also not overly sweet. A good match for brats and what have you. Pleasant hopping.

Pours dark ruby to black with a thinner khaki head that leaves some soapy waves of dripping lace. Nose involves notes of chocolate, toast, and nuttiness. Pretty sweet, fairly bitter. Medium bodied, somewhat oily, active, with a toasty bitter finish. Not a bad brew, definitely sessionable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep brown with a half finger, tan head that coats the glass. Aroma is nice and roasty. Chocolate with a touch of coffee and caramel, and a bit of citrus hops. Taste is balanced. Mild dark chocolate and roasted malts paired with a short, slightly coffee finish. Medium body and carbonation. Texture is slightly thin but clean with a very dry finish. Overall a very easy drinking porter. Solid roasted flavours but balanced well.
