Flanagan’s. Bottle pours deep brown with a tan head. Aroma shows chocolate, moderate roast, vanilla and caramel. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of coffee. Overall body is somewhat thin and ashy with lots of roasted bitterness in the finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle in trade with Fletche00. Pours very dark brown, with light ruby notes. Good coffee notes, some sour cherries, molasses, and nutmeg. The flavor is sweet up front, with some significant sour and metallic notes through the finish. Medium to heavy body, sticky, and pretty astringent. Overall, this is a mediocre porter, with weak aroma, and a relatively unpleasant flavor. Not bad, but not very good.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown color with a white head, its nose is nice, soft, and spiced, with slight notes of coffee and licorice. It has a weak mouthfeel, but a pleasant flavor of more coffee and licorice, especially in the finish. It’s pleasant, a good porter.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma: Chocolate, caramel, very light smoke. Appearance: Not sure, drank from the bottle. Flavor: Matched the nose. Palate: Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, long finish. Overall: A good porter with enough complexity to keep things interesting. Can’t believe I hadn’t rated this already.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle via trade. Poured a slightly thinner looking dark black body with a smaller to perhaps average foamy beige head. Aroma is very dusty with lots of dusty malts, dusty chocolate, vanilla candles. Flavor of sweeter chocolate pudding powder, grass, some dry plywood, bad vanilla. Medium to thinner body with soft to average carbonation and a watery finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
A slightly better than mediocre porter. Oily mouthfeel with the typical chocolate and coffee character. Not much in the way of hops, but has an attractive dark appearance and an almost licorice sweet aroma.
