COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the spring of 2006, I brewed 300 gallons of top-fermented beer using wild yeast to create a Belgian-style Lambic. We conditioned the beer in oak casks and then initiated a secondary fermentation in the casks using whole fruit from Huber's Orchard in Starlight, Indiana. You should experience a tart, almost sour taste balanced by the aromatic and richly flavorful addition of whole blueberries - perfect to share with friends, and a platter of good cheese and fresh fruit. - Caleb Staton, Head Brewer

750ml bottle. Thanks to miketd for sharing. Aroma: Wheat malt hits me first, and then a strong dose of blueberry. Smells tart, but no funk to speak of. Some light oakiness comes forward as it warms. Appearance: Rose/purple in color and slightly hazed. Head was small and fizzy with a noticeable blue tint. No lacing. Flavor: Wheat malt hits me first again. Blueberry flavor is nice with a good blend of berry flavor, sweetness, and a strong tartness. Some lemon, slight cheesiness, and oak. Not as tart as I was expecting, but seems to work here. Very dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: An interesting beer, and one I’m glad I tried. Some more funk would have been welcome.

From old tasting notes. 750 ml bottle. This one pours a beautiful deep red color with a purple hue and topped by a small, thin film of off white foam at the head that quickly fades into the body below. A sticky wash is left behind after each sip. The aroma is full of soft lactic funk showing notes of sweet and tart blueberries along with hints of oak laden vanilla. The flavor shows more tart blueberry, subtle fruit sweetness, earthy funk, and lactic and citrus acidity. There is a nice tartness throughout the brew. Medium bodied and dry in nature to go with the lively carbonation that leads a tart, refreshing finish. This is a fine example of a sour fruit beer. Good stuff.

June 19, 2015 - bottle shared by Brian. It is dark, but looked like a pinkish pour. Nicely balanced with the fruit, sour and wood.

Bottle. Killer beer. Sour, tart. Funky. Prickly on the tongue. Blueberry fruitiness. Pinkish pour (but it’s dark here). Awesome beer - love it.

Bottle. Pours purple with light haze, small light purple head. No retention. Aroma of funk, blueberry, blackberry, oak, lemon, lactic notes. Taste is tart, moderately lactic, lemon, berry, oak. Palate is dry, crisp, slick, tart finish. Refreshing and milder than some other Upland lambics.

Blueberry aroma fresh blueberry. Flavor is Chardonnay and oak and powerful blueberry. Finishes dry with the olfactory barnwood and basement arena.

Everything for most part is awesome, great fruit nose great yeasty funk great oak insets..just a tad cloying on palate and slightly syrupy. May be time in bottle as Jim would say to mellow it out. Otherwise great!

Bottle thanks to pailhead for sharing. Dark purple pour with no head. Aroma is blueberries with some sour lemon and musty oak. Tastes extremely sour but so good. Grape skins, red wine, blueberry, lemon, and oak. Moderately acidic. Ultra dry finish works very well here. Good stuff.

Bottle: Dark indigo & purple opaque body with a lavender head that fizzes out in seconds to absolutely nothing. Aroma of light blueberry, lemon, light oak, some acetic & lactic sourness, & light must. Flavor heavy with super sour lemon & berry acidic tartness, vinegar, strong yogurt, lacto bacteria, drying wood, cherry skin, & a dry, acidic finish. Burns a little going down, super acidic... But very tasty.
