This crisp golden ale is built on the foundation of delicate light malts. This allows us to showcase some of the most interesting and effervescent American hops in a way we have never before done. We saved over 75% of the hops used in this recipe to add after the batch was boiled, allowing the distinct fragrance of grapefruit, apricot and pine to be preserved as much as possible in the finished beer. With a crisp, but subtle bitterness, a refreshingly light malt character, and a 4.5 ABV, this is the perfect warm weather beverage for those who think flavor is just as important as refreshment.

12 oz bottle from the Binnys South Loop Singles Rack (Chicago, IL). Oddly, it’s taken me some time to get this and rate it. Pours a nice glowing golden hue, a firmer haziness with gentle dulled orange glow. Very bubbly body with mellow cakey white head. A nice layer sits atop, dies to a film and laces ok. Aromas throw gentle grapefruit rind and juice, touches of lemon and earthy green leafy bitter hops. Touches of bread, gentle fruit and grainy malts. A bit floral, faint waft of lemon cookies. Initial is lighter end of the fold, some nice pithy citrus and rind elements give some bitterness. Touches of citrus juice, a bit of bread. Mellow grainy and bready malts into the middle show some base. Clean, lighter. The backend brings back a firmer floral bitterness, touches of earth and bitter citrus rind. Cleaner, but still fairly hoppy and poignant even with some age on it. A bit bready, gentle spice and fizziness. Finish is dry, a touch powdery and floral. Solid Session IPA. Lacks pop and character but is clean and well made.

Draft to pint at Half Moon. Looks solid; a little undercarbonated though. A transparent light gold with bubbly white lacing. Smells solid; nicely hopped with a very light malt backbone. Tastes like it smells, but less robust. Or it could be the undercarbonation making it seem a bit stale. A decent SIPA, but could be much better with some additional carbonation.

Looks alright; light for an APA though. A transparent light gold with ample fluffy white head. Smells solid; bitter hops with a semi-sweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with. An average mouthfeel. Not bad.

12oz bottle from jcwatts. Poured a hazy light gold body with a slightly smaller foamy bright white head. Aroma of tangerine, limons, honey topped bread, definitely sweeter. Body is a little to carbonated, medium overall and a bitter dry finish. Flavor is grains, lime rind, some tangerine, crusts, hop cones. Nice stuff.

This is a nice lower gravity hoppy beer. It is cloudy orange yellow in the glass w/ a small, foamy but long lasting head. This has a whole lot of grapefruit in the nose and is a bit hempy as well. Taste here is just a touch sweet and piny, resiny hops make this drink much bigger than it actually is. It finishes a w/ a firm citrus rind bitterness which rounds things out nicely. I might call this more of a straight up APA than a session IPA due to its fuller body and slight sweetness but it is a rather good beer either way.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours golden / amber with an off-white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, pale malts, hints of caramel, and light dough. Flavor the same. Average to lighter texture. A solid session IPA.

12 oz. bottle thanks to jcwattsrugger, thanks for the opportunity! Lightly hazy gold with steady, active carbonation. Aroma is grassy and citrus hops with traces of pine. Smells nice.

Flavor matches the aroma. Starts with some toasted grain and grassy hops, grapefruit and pine toward the finish. The bitterness is short and abrupt with a body that is on the lighter side of medium. The brewer hit the mark for the style and is exactly what is advertised. Nice hop flavor with a crisp, refreshing quality.

Bottle. Golden body. Frothy, white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of citrus, pine, lemon, toasted grain, resin. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Thin, but plenty of hop flavors of citrus, pine and lemon.
