4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 danielcurtis81 (1511) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 1, 2012Served from a 750 mL bottle thanks to awiseman01. The Feb 2010 version. The appearance is a cloudy cider brown with a good dirty white head. Tons of earthy barnyard tones in the salivating nose. Hints of bourbon, oak, and butterscotch as well. The flavors are woody/grainy sour flavors with some sweet edge to balance things nicely. Brown sugar, herbal leaves and weeds. Fantastic beer for sure. Big thanks to Andy for this one!

750ml bottle shared at Mike’s sour/brett tasting. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has loads of malt sweetness, balsamic, sour. Taste is malty sweet and tart/vinegar. thinner bodied. I don’t think this held up very well compared to a fresher bottle.

Bottle @ a recent bottle share... Poured cloudy brownish with a khaki head. Dark fruits with a sharp lactic sourness. Critter got all over this beast. Some funk with strong wood notes from complexity. Also dark malted sugars too to keep it interesting.

Bottle I believe from a forgotten good store. Above average mouthfeel. Darker colour than the style.Bretty. Coca cola, nutmeg, pepper, mint, and we need more of that than the sourness. Bubbly head. Cross saison/mild.
