3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft to snifter. Looks solid; a fairly transparent amberish-orange with thin off-white lacing. Smells and tastes underhopped for a DIPA. Smooth on the palate. Not as good as I remember it being at Upland from the bomber (aged keg maybe?). Will revisit at some point; drinks more like a malty IPA.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice imperial version of their Dragonfly IPA. Just like the single is a balanced, easy drinking IPA; the double has the same attributes. There's a lot better, but it's a great value($5.99 bomber).

Pours gold with white head and nice lacing. Aroma of citrus and pine hops with some out of place mustiness. Taste is better with pine and bitterness. Malts balances the bitterness. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2013 Rerate - not as bad as I had on NYE. The artificial taste is not there. Must have had a bad bottle.
bomber - pours clear amber/orange with ivory head and decent lacing. nose is floral - not what I was expecting from an IIPA. flavor adds herbal hops, resin and spicy - very vague but that only shows how limited I am in describing flavors. whatever it is, it smells artificial and toxic. mainly bitter, but light a sweetness pervades. 5/4/7/1/6 or 2.3

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in October 2012. Pours lightly hazy bright orange amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, orange zest, citrus rind, caramel, pineapple, tangerine, light mango, floral, grass, and earthy hops. Nice aromas with good hop complexity and balance; strength was pretty weak for a DIPA. Taste of grapefruit, pine, orange zest, citrus rind, pineapple, light mango, floral, grass, light caramel, and piney spiciness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus zest, citrus rind, pine, pineapple, light mango, floral, grass, caramel, and piney spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice hop complexity and balance; great malt/bitterness balance as well; with minimal cloying flavors present on the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy, slick, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this was a very good DIPA. Nice hop complexity and malt balance; and very smooth to sip on. A nicely enjoyable offering.
