Seriously Hoppy with a clean finish. The aroma draws you in if you like IPA’s. Upland has found a winner with Double Dragonfly. Enjoy every single drop every single time!!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle orange/amber color with big off white frothy head. Decent bit of lacing. The aroma is a light citrusy almost lemony smell. Flavor kind of shocked me I was expecting more in hops being a dipa. The flavor is not over powering no taste of alcohol and quite mild on the hops. Even after it got warmer the flavor didn’t change.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hides the alcohol very well, nice aroma, tropical. Flavor starts a bit slick, buttery, balanced pine and citrus, tasty, not the freshest so I’m sure there are a few points to give here.

22oz bottle in a shaker. Pours copper with a lacy off-white head. Aroma of citrusy hops, caramel malts, and some bread/dough. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent double IPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clear copper pour with white head and decent lacing. Aromas of citrus, fruit, and floral. Taste is mild sweet on the front end, a bit fruity, and medium bitterness on the back end, with a slight bit of alcohol. Medium bodied, nice dry finish. Overall, I am impressed with this brew. The Dragonfly IPA is not my favorite, but the Double, with additional sweetness, is really pretty good.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber from the big Big Red, Bloomington. After gallons and gallons of Dragonfly over the years, I was intrigued by the prospect of the big sibling. A lustrous bright orange with mild earthy cloudiness, it was pretty appealing visually, especially the big rocky head. Nose was a bit too hot and sweet perhaps. And the body was a smidge on the thin side, with a slightly too oily finish. Flavors, though, were pretty good, with the hops holding character without being too sharp and boozy (as I feared from the aroma).

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with off-white head. The aroma is butterscotch and lots of fruity hops, some honeyish sweetness, some floral hops behind the fruit. The flavor is dense sweetness with a sort of chaotic hop profile. There is noticeable alcohol. The finish is marked with assertive bitterness that gets a pine note to it after a few sips. Ok.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A little thin for an IIPA, but good none the less. pours an oragish golden brown with a thin white head. Nose and taste is a bit muted, and a touch boozy. I would have liked to see a stronger hop profile. I also prefer my IIPA’s more oily. This was a good beer especially considering the 22oz was all of about $6. Worth a try but I would look hard for it.
