COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Upland Dragonfly IPA is a malty and hoppy brew. Note the clean malty fullness on the front of the palate with fruity citrus overtones, attributable to our special hops. Dry hopping creates a floral aroma, and our use of bittering hops lends a strong bitter taste in the back of the tongue and throat.

This is an OK IPA. Sort of weak aroma, but the flavor has some nice pine, hops, bitterness, and a little citrus. However, they all combine into an overall flavor that is sort of pedestrian and unremarkable. Not enough malt for me, and the flavor isn’t particularly balanced. The better IPA’s have superior balance and more complexity. This one isn’t bad, but I probably won’t seek it out again.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear orange amber with white head. Sweet malty aroma with some floral notes. Lot of caramel and biscuity aroma. Taste is also very malt dominated. Not very well balanced. Mild to moderate bitterness with moderate to heavy sweetness. Caramel, toffee, biscuits, floral, spices. Medium bodied with sticky mouthfeel. Average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[Bottle] Light amber color with a quickly receding white head. Nose is of hops mixed with a surprising amount of sweet malts. Grapefruit, pine, grass, caramel and light floral hops in the taste. Sharper bitterness comes out in the finish.

Pours a deep golden with a white head which lingers a bit......aroma is bread, slight sweetness.....taste is pure English IPA, bread notes, bittering, a touch of biscuitty flavor. Solid, for the American palette an English IPA is tougher to produce and do well, this one hits the marks.

Bottle at home from notes. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have caramel, floral, citrus, some dank hops, flavor has a more general bitterness with no real distinguishing flavors, toasted bread. I wanted to like this more than I actually did.

On tap. Dark orange color with an off white head. Aroma is hoppy, with some citrus in it. Tastes malty, some hops, kind of refreshing... Not bad, but i would just get the snpa tap next

Sad for an ipa. Very malty. If it was a pale ale. It would be rated higher. Not impressed by this east coast version of a pale ale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, served at St. Elmo’s, Indy. Orange-gold, fruity-flowery hops with sweet pale malts; a lighter IPA but very pleasant.

This is a nice orange color in the glass, crystal clear w/ only a little ring of head after about thirty seconds. This is a very nicely balanced, just slightly sweet and quite bitter, which works well for me in an IPA. The texture is medium bodied and creamy, which also suits the style rather well. While this is pretty tasty and the balance and texture indicate to me it’s a high quality beer, this really just doesn’t have the vibrant hop character I look for in the style. It is hoppy, for sure, but vaguelly so w/ no real juicy citrus notes or deep piny character to grab your attention.
