COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Upland Dragonfly IPA is a malty and hoppy brew. Note the clean malty fullness on the front of the palate with fruity citrus overtones, attributable to our special hops. Dry hopping creates a floral aroma, and our use of bittering hops lends a strong bitter taste in the back of the tongue and throat.

Flanagan’s. Bottle pours orange-gold with an off-white head. Aroma shows lots of grapefruit, toffee, and light florals. Flavor has some toast character that wasn’t quite present in the nose as well as sweet caramel and a touch of pine. Overall body is moderate and the bitterness is fairly balanced.

This is a nice orange color in the glass, crystal clear w/ only a little ring of head after about thirty seconds. This is a very nicely balanced, just slightly sweet and quite bitter, which works well for me in an IPA. The texture is medium bodied and creamy, which also suits the style rather well. While this is pretty tasty and the balance and texture indicate to me it’s a high quality beer, this really just doesn’t have the vibrant hop character I look for in the style. It is hoppy, for sure, but vaguelly so w/ no real juicy citrus notes or deep piny character to grab your attention.

From a twelve ounce bottle (one of a twelve pack I purchased at "The Party Source" in Newport, Kentucky)... this one fills my "Maifest 2012" mug with a dark bronze hued brew with a malty aroma as opposed to a citrus aroma. However, the taste of this one is primarily a grassy citrus thing, a fine IPA. Now, as to another rater’s comment that there was minimal lacing to the frothy head... that tells me that you drank it too darn cold! A proper IPA should be served at room temperature, and this beer shows some fime, frothy lacing at that temp! Please remember folks that IPA means "India Pale Ale", and the lads out there defending the "sun never sets" empire didn’t have ’friges, even poorly made Lucas "Prince Of Darkness" ones!

A bit too malty for me but a nice bitterness. Hard to detect the alleged dry hopping. A fine IPA but gets lost in the sea of much better ones. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Citrus hops, very tasty. Can relax and have a few or pour from a growler on a Sunday in Indiana.

Orange color with a light floral hop aroma. The taste is malt then floral and earthy hops. Butter lingering finish that diminishes as the beer warms. Medium body. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Almost no discernible aroma. Not much hop character. From a tap at TGI Friday's... It's likely too cold to bring out the flavor. Will let it warm up a bit and adjust score if it improves. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Pour is light copper, off-white head. Decent retention/little lace. Aroma of toffee, grassy/floral hop, caramel. Taste is moderately bitter, light sweetness, toffee, citrus, grass. Palate is soft, slick, light oil, bitter finish.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled in 8/2013. Pours a very hazy/murky golden orange color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, caramel, toast, toffee, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and herbal earthiness. Unimpressive and malt forward aromas with light-moderate hop presence; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, pine, caramel, toast, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, orange/lemon zest, pine, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, and floral/toasted earthiness on the finish. Pretty nice flavor balance and complexity of hop and malt flavors; with a solid and crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and sticky mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a mediocre IPA. Aromas were way too malt forward with weak hops; but the flavors were a bit more balanced and crisp. I had no problem finishing off the glass.

Bottle - Lightly hazy amber pour with a foamy off-white head. Nose is metallic with lightly floral and fruity hops. Dry pale malt. Taste is sweet and bready malt, a bit of citrus rind, some honey, and a bitter citrus finish. Lots of sweetness. Pretty warming. Slick and fairly thick with medium-carbonation. Too sweet for me.
