Upland’s Harvest Ale is an American Pale Ale by design, but an even more vibrant rendition by loading up our hopback with freshly harvested Citra hops. Expect huge wafts of tropical fruit notes, balanced by a moderate bitterness and light toasted malt character. A showcase for one of our four favorite ingredients and a delight for all the hopheads out there.

Bottle - Pours golden amber with a foamy white head. Nose is fruity, with a subtle hint of dankness and a touch of pine. Sweet bready malt body. Taste is pretty malty and sweet, with a bit of tropical fruit and a sharp piney finish. Body is well-carbonated, medium, and slick. Too sweet and bitter.

Very nice fresh hopped ale. Not sure how I haven't had it since it's from a brewery I'm so familiar with. This will become a Fall staple for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma: Very vibrant grapefruit hop core with edges of mango; the malt character is actually detectable with cereal. Appearance: Mostly clear light copper body with a patch of creamy tan head. Flavor: Fairly fruity up front with grapefruit still dominant; some light/moderate bitterness comes in closer to the finish. The cereal/toast malts are unmistakably in there, and provide a slightly sweet respite from the bitterness. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation, bitter finish. Overall: My first beer in nearly two weeks and worth the wait. Quite nice indeed.

Nice orange color with a very pleasing hop aroma. Tropical and fruity from the Citra hops. Taste is pleasantly bitter with some toasted malt and nice citrus zing. Medium-light body. Pretty good, the Citra hops really make this an enjoyable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle shared poured medium orange color with white head. Nice hop aroma, mild to medium malt backbone. Flavor is really good. You can really tell whole hops from pellets at least I can. A little more earthy in the flavor. Overall pretty darn good.

Sampled at the Brewpub. It poured a clear copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of moderate citrus hop and toasted malts. It had a medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. The taste was medium bittersweet with a finish of moderate duration. Nice.

I’m really surprised by the low overall rating of this beer. It is one of the better offering from Upland. The use of Citra hops puts this beer over the top with a great citrusy flavor. Medium bodied, with a clean slightly bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a nice orange color with a nice off white head. Aroma of juicy, fresh hops. Lots of tropical fruit, pineapple and citrus. Favor is mostly fruity, lots of mango and pineapple hoppiness, touches of clean pale malt. Medium bodied, lively carbonation. Finishes with mild bitterness. Quite nice.

UPDATED: OCT 26, 2014 2014 12oz bottle. Filtered copper orange body. Foamy white head laces the glass. Earthy, hop vine tones. Resinous. A touch dry, rindy. Not really what I would associate with Citra at all, not sure if that has been changed. A touch biting. Very fresh, but lacking big tropical tones, more in line with a classic NW bill..in a good way. A really solid beer either way. 2013 12oz bottle. Filtered dulled orange-tan body. Thin, steady white head. Earthy aroma, sort of subdued. The hop flavor is quite strong in the flavor, with some resinous eathiness throughout. Clean and drinkable, but pronounced hop tones. Not really much bitterness or bite, but the trained tongue certainly picks up the Citra. A touch vegetal, but quite nice beer. Well done, enjoyable stuff.

Draft pour. Hazy copper with a white head. Aroma is big dank grass and with some citrus qualities coming through. Lighter on the palate. Easy going bitterness.
