This traditional American Pale Ale is a combination of the finest Midwestern malts and American Hops, creating a refreshingly crisp, citrusy, and slightly bitter taste. Named for the Greek sun god, Helios Pale Ale is a great choice for those who like a lot of personality and individuality in their beer. Helios was given its name to reflect Upland’s commitment to environmental sustainability, specifically the installation of ten solar water tube panels on the roof of the brewery, which have dramatically reduced the amount of natural gas used to heat water in the brewhouse.

bottle. pretty average pale ale. Nothing really stands out, expect it’s better than a bud light

Pours slightly hazy orange-golden with a thin pale buff head. Malty aroma is not strong, and has a fruity hint. Flavor is more hoppy than malty, close to an IPA, slightly bitter with just a hint of orange. Mouthfeel has average fizz and slightly thin body, while finish is hoppy and woody. Nothing special, but good for a party or chilling on a hot day.

Descent but nothing special. Nice aroma and orangish look. Taste is lacking and it lingers for way to long.

12 ounce bottle. Decent hoppy pale with nice orange pour. Some good aroma that is a bit bigger than taste.

Very solid Pale Ale. Nothing stands out as exceptional though. Smells better than it tastes but it does have almost everything you'd want in a Pale. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I really liked this IPA. Clean and crisp, with aggressive citrus hopping. Lots of length, good flavor, and a rich finish.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass, displaying a lightly hazed, orangey gold color, with a fairly persistent, frothy layer of soft white head foam, and wavy lacing that turned web-like as the liquid decreased. The nose was some peach, orange rind, a bit of sweet grain, with sideline notes of foliage & woody stalks, and a bit of plastic. The taste highlighted citrus & pit fruit, with a lingering, citrusy & earthy bitterness, light to medium body, fairly active carbonation, and a bit of dryness to the finish. Nice enough Pale, but didn’t exactly pop for me.

Pours a hazy bronze-gold with a fluffy, rocky eggshell head that settles quickly and leaves some soapy, stringy lace. Nose involves sweet grain, some pine, spicy hops, and peach notes. Fairly sweet, decently bitter. Medium bodied, oily, toasty, finishing toward dry. A decent pale ale, snappy and quenching.
