3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 ounce bottle, bottled in August 2013. One of my friends gave me this a couple weeks ago. Served in a mug, the beer pours an orange/copper color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like toasted malt, bready malt, and a bit of fruit (apple). The taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s the addition of some herbalness. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it’s a bit coating with moderate carbonation. I liked this brew, but I wish I would have been able to try this when it was fresher. If I get the chance to, then I’ll review it again.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured from a bottle. The short-lived head was the first hint this might be a disappointment. The beer is unpleasantly sour with an even more sour after-taste. I really like Oktoberfest style lagers. This is not a good example.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled at the Brewpub. It poured a golden/orange color with an off-white head. The aroma was of mild malts with some hints of citrus. The taste was malty with sweet hints of honey. The finish was smooth with a little mild bitterness. Nice.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice bottle supplied by queen holly. Thanks! Clear yellow with active carbonation. Thick cap of head. Flavor of malt, nuts, caramel, and mild hops with a dry finish. Authentic German yeast or malts, or both. The flavor makes me dream of Germany, really nice job for recreating a classic stlye.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft sample at 2013 Cincinnati Brew Ha Ha festival. Medium to dark amber color, moderate sweet toasted malt aroma, light to moderate flavor of toasted malt, bread and some bitterness, very nice finish which ups (no pun intended) the grade. Tasted on August 24, 2013.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at the tqp house. Darker copper with white head of foam. Aroma is spice and grainy. Finishes with a bready spiciness. Not my style I guess.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Not sure why this is so low. Nice clean toasty flavor. Less sweet than many American octoberfests. Its very tasty, very easy to drink.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz bottle purchased as a single at Keg Liquors in Clarksville, Indiana. The pour is clear golden copper with a smaller off white head. The aroma is caramel and hay malt, along with a dry grassy character. The taste is straightforward with the caramel malt with the grassy hops. Standard Oktoberfest flavors. The palate is medium bodied with very low, almost still, carbonation and a sweet grassy slight clove finish. Not sure this was in the best shape.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Moerlein Lager House. Pours a clear orange-copper with a small off-white head that laces the glass. The aroma is very restrained, with toasty and dry malts, and a bit of toffee and brown sugar. The flavor has the same malt profile but has a surprising amount of spice. Some leaves, too. Light-bodied, with medium sharp carbonation and a malty, spicy mouthfeel. Not bad.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft to taster. Looks decent; light for an Oktoberfest though. A transparent gold with white lacing. Smells lightly malty and doughy. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. An underwhelming example of the style.
