No season is as synonymous with beer as autumn, when the most storied beer festival of them all, Oktoberfest, takes place in Munich, Germany. Since 1810, this celebration of good food, good company, and, most importantly, good beer, has most prominently featured Marzen-style lager–so much so that many refer to the beer simply as Oktoberfest. Our Oktoberfest is a traditional Bavarian lager featuring all-German malts and rare German hops. This dedication to authenticity produces a beer that would be as at home in Munich as it is here in the Midwest United States. The aroma is authentic, the taste sweet and malty, and the finish crisp and hoppy; perfect for a beautiful fall day!

Tap...clear copper pour with a sweet malty nose. Outstanding balance with hops and malt complimenting one another nicely. I’m always leery of this style as sugary sweetness is so common, but this was smooth, crisp, and very drinkable.

On tap at Global Brew. Pours a clear pale orange/amber with a robust off white head. Toasted bread aroma. Taste is sweet caramel malt all the way, along with buttered biscuits, bread dough, and a spiciness generally associated with marzens. ABV goes totally unnoticed. Smooth, decent and traditional.

Aroma is malts, fruit and a hard to place spicy perfume. The flavor is malts, fruit, very slightly bitter-like and a mix of smooth and somewhat beery in the finish.

Good try for a Oktomberfest brew by Upland brewing. Maybe something good does come out of Bloomington #Boilerup

This is a pretty decent Oktoberfest, not too sweet and good and malty. It is clear orange w/ a patchy white head. Its nose is herbal hops with a hint of malted barley. The malt really jumps out at you once you taste it, very rich and toasty, clean and full flavored. This is relatively light bodied for a malt-centric brew and along w/ brisk carbonation keeps it abnormally drinkable for a style that is often sweet and heavy. This is a style I enjoy but is rarely done very well. I came across this rather old and it’s still very good. I hope I remember to pick up a sixer fresh next year.

Too sweet, with a drying and sweet finish. Not much hop presence, with a cereal body and light mouthfeel.
