GABF 2010. Pours a medium copper amber with a thin head. Aroma is nutty, toast, light caramel, light dms, cracker and grass. Flavor is more corn, dms, cracker, dust, earth, light grassy herbal hops, mineral in the finish- a bit weak. Not bad.

Bottled. The weakest beer of the variety pack. Light honey sweetness in the flavor, aroma, and finish. Drinkable, but needs some other ingredients. Light bodied for an octoberfest. A little watery in the finish as well.

From a growler. Orange/amber and crystal clear. grainy pilsner malt nose and a little rich malt character and maybe some hop aroma but very little. Taste is wonderfully sweet and malty and kilned. Finishes clean, dry and quick. What a great beer from upland.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2010 I shared this beer with my friend Dave. The beer was poured in separate rocks glasses. The aroma was hoppy with a hint of carmel. The appearance was of an amber color with a light consistency. The brew tasted of carmel, vanilla, and toffee notes. Typical microbrew oktoberfest beer loaded with hops. Little malt flavor. Overall, great, but had more hops then an oktoberfest beer should have...

I would buy this beer if I were at a bar and there wasn’t anything else I liked better, which is in fact why I bought it. The body is not what I’d like it to be, and frankly there are more hops in this beer than you would EVER find in a real Bavarian Oktoberfest. So far, no American brewery that I’ve ever tasted has even come close to creating anything that really resembles the real thing from the Bayern. It’s not the hops are bad, they’re actually pretty good, but if you tore the label off of this beer, gave it to me and asked me if it came from America or Germany, I would say it was from an American craft brewer within seconds, because of the citrus hops. It tastes a little like Oktoberfest, but not really that much.

This beer makes a beautiful appearance with a huge tan head, honey color and lots of effervesence. Aroma is malt and carmel. Creamy, bubbly mouthfeel, nice malt flavor and a crisp clear finish. Excellent accompaniment to brats, burgers or deli snadwiches.

Amber color with a small head. Aroma is sweet with some spice and mild bitter roasted malts. Flavor has caramel and spice and balanced with some bitterness.
