3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 drowland (4988) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - AUG 29, 2012
8/11/12. GTMW. Golden pour with a nice enough barely off-white head. Pale and pilsner malts in the aroma with a bit of hay, grass, fruitiness, and spiciness. A parallel flavor with more of the grassiness and spice than the malt aspects. Not bad.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 NobleSquirrel (3286) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Draft at Twenty Tap. Pours a brilliant gold with a frothy white head. Nose is very clean with a heavy Saaz spiciness. Some soft sweetness on the nose as well, fading into malt. On tasting, it is a bit low in terms of malt overally. Good medium bitterness with the spicy Saaz coming through nicely. Very clean. More malt and this would be top notch.

The best Pilsner at the Valpo Beer Fest in 2011. That’s my opinion. Kept the rocky head longer than any other Pilsner served up - seemed to be more Bohemian than the other "German" style pilsners. I wish American brewers made this style more often - I like the Bohemian style pilsners, but by the time they get over here, they’re not as good as continental-made ones, and usually come in a green bottle.
