COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American Amber Ale combines the timelessness of European ales as well as the innovativeness of American breweries, making it a uniquely new world take on a classic style. Our Rad Red Amber Ale’s extra hop kick takes this tradition of innovation a step further. Its solid hop presence, which comes from 100% American hops, is balanced by crunchy Caramel Malt, giving it a perfect amber color and chewy malt character. We kept the rest simple, using only Upland’s own yeast ale blend and pure southern Indiana water for this drinkable yet refreshingly radical brew.

16oz on tap at Dewey’s in Oakley. Clear orangered color. Good thin off-white head. Nice, thick creamy lace. Medium body. Good, smooth lighter carbonation. Nice creamy texture. Caramel malt, and a satisfying amount of spicy hop. Light tropical fruit in the aroma. Nice lightly spicy, light bitter taste. Mostly sweet, though. Very drinkable, smooth, satisfyingly hoppy amber-red ale.

Pours a semi-clear reddish/orange color with a decent and long lasting head of light brown foam. Scent has malts mixed with some spices that stand out the most. Taste has a mix of burnt malts and mildly bitter hops to it. A little bit of sweet caramel hints as well. Could be a little heavier in the texture and is just slightly watery. A decent find from a pretty well known Indiana brewery. Can’t wait to try more of their stuff!

Good orange amber color, a bit of haze and a ring of head. Caramel malt aroma, fruity hops and bit of spice. Rounded mouth feel, drinkable and refreshing.Malty, but not sweet, with a boost of hop flavor and bitterness to balance. Good!

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Slightly cloudy reddish amber brew. Aroma of sweet malt, earth, floral hops. Taste is sweet malts at the start, then a little earth and very nice hoppy finish, emphasis on floral and some herbal hops. Malt sweetness throughout, nicely blended with the hops in the finish. A really fine brew.

Pours a murky amber with a thick, yellowish, tan head. Scent is toffee,, tea. Taste is herbal/piney hop...water....and again, bitter tea. Light and watery. Decent, but you tend to take big gulps to get to any flavour. It’s about as radical as loosening your tie.

Pours a hazy, sediment-laden orange-amber with a rocky khaki head that leaves a heap of thick lacing. Nose involves caramel malt notes with some perfumey pine hops. Taste is fairly sweet with plenty of bitterness. Palate is lighter, slick, with a twangy hoppy bitter finish. A solid, pretty easy drinking brew.

Reminds me of a light Stone Levitation Ale. Decent enough, not quite as good though.
