A dark and robust beer brewed in the traditional stout method. Teddy Bear Kisses features an abundance of dark malts and high alpha hops for a powerful impact of roast, chocolate, and sweet bitterness. The lucky few who cuddle up to a warming session with Teddy Bear Kisses sense the velvety malt character, balanced bitter intensity, and soothing chocolate notes created by long aging on fair trade cocoa nibs. Teddy Bear Kisses will make you feel warm and happy inside, but it’s definitely not your childhood cuddle toy.

Dark bron to black pour w/ a thick well laced tan head. Aroma is oddly hoppy for an IS. Reminded me of a bigger version of black sun for a second. Dark roast malts hints of lightly bitter coffee a touch of cocoa powder and some warm alcohols. Something though in the aroma just isn’t quite right, just a touch off. Full well coated rich palate. Flavor has a lot of bottom of the coffee pot bitterness over roasted malt, a tiny hint of bitter cocoa powder. Drain pour.. not good at all.

[Bottle] Black pour with an inch of medium brown head. Nose is of chocolate, charred malts, coffee grounds and mild earthy hops. Notes of espresso, bakers chocolate, chalky roasted malts, toffee, Nutella and brown sugar. The alcohol is well disguised. Medium bodied. Tasting notes from Big Blue Craft Beer Festival in Sheboygan on 10/18/14.

Pours a deep brown color with a dark tan head. Aroma of solid chocolate and coffee with a very faint hint of sweetness. Taste is initially sweet with a bitter finish. Full body goes down smoothly. An excellent beer, good for winter evenings.

12 oz bottle at Sergio's. The pour is a darker brown/light black with a light tan head and no lace to be found. The aroma is all roasty malt and light chocolate. There is a little bit of cracker notes present and I'm just not picking up anything else. It's pretty plain. The flavor is somewhat similar. Heavy roast and bready malts with a lingeringly bitter cocoa type of aftertaste. The mouth feel is pretty thin with a lingeringly bitter roasty aftertaste. Not bad. Not great, but I'd have it again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: Dark brown with a head that shrinks to nothing.

Aroma: Cola, dark roasted malt, anise, caramelized dark fruit.

Taste: Dark roasted malt, black coffee, dark chocolate, ripe dark fruit. Spicy hops.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Average carbonation.

Overall: Absolutely nothing wrong with this beer, a perfect example of an Imperial Stout.

Bottle. Poured out black with almost no head. Every aspect mentioned in the brewer’s description is precisely what you get -- velvety chocolate malt, but not too sweet with some bitterness, roasted but absolutely smooth. Left you feeling warm and satisfied as a stand alone, dessert-like experience. Loved it! Only low score is aroma, which was mild compared to rich flavor.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark cola brown with a thin tan head. Roast and cocoa. Warm roast, a touch ashy, cocoa and chocolate. Lingering roast and a touch of chocolate.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2014 Sorry Upland, this beer smells like cabbage. It is okay otherwise, not too sweet with a reasonably creamy texture. I could say a bit more but, honestly, the whole story of this beer is the gross autolyzed yeast and cabbage nose so, you know, maybe it’s good w/o these two elements but I really have no way of knowing.

Dark roasted aroma. Chocolate and coffee with a bitter finish. Not one of my favorite imperial stouts.

Pours a black with small head and small lacing. Aroma of dark bitter chocolate roasted malt hint of vanilla and caramel. Boozy. Moderate hope bitterness. Full bodied chewy and a bit oily. Medium bitter finish with vodka like boozy tones. Wanted to like this better . May be good with age.
