Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA Apr 14, 2008 Cloudy dark amber with an off-white head. Right off the bat, this beer kind of reminded me of Boulder Beer’s Never Summer Ale. Although, this beer is a bit sweeter/stronger. Mouthfeel was chewy and thick. Malts were sweet, with notes of toffee, big roast, nuts, peat, and sweet grains/cereal. Subtle fruit flavors (raisins, plums, dates) surface behind its malty richness. Very nice balance ... and it had a quality that I really liked that I couldn’t put my finger on (probably the aged factor, having spent some time in a basement). Overall, I found this beer to be pretty darn tasty (I think it’s slightly underrated, btw). Anyhoo, thanks again, jcr!

Same for the taste - sweet and strong. Some fruitiness as well. Good barleywine, although nothing really stood out.
