COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A new lager with a label inspired by the band Bad Brains. Made in a similar vein to 2010’s "Clash Beer", this nameless beer is essentially an imperial pilsener with some roasted malts added for color, yielding a dark brew with a nice balance. Not too far off from a traditional German-style schwarzbier, but leaning bitter and with more hop flavor.

From a bottle.I thought this beer was a little too earthy for myself. The pour was a dark brown with a slight brown head.Taste like dead leaves.Maybe this beer is dedicated to the later performances of Bad Brains.

750 m bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a large white head. Foamy. A sweet nutty and citrus hop nose. Sweet fruit, nutty toasted malt. Chocolate and more bitter hops. Good beer.

Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a very dark brown, almost opaque. LOTS of off-white head. Aroma crisp, with a bit of resin and just a dash of roastiness. Body very lively, finish sharp, spicy, lingering roasty bitterness. Would have liked it better fresh and/or on tap, still not bad.

Bottle:   Murky brown, dark, very foamy beige head, decent lacing.   Not as dark as others, and certainly more foamy or overcarbonated.   Faint sweet maltiness, very non-descript, a little roasty.   Seems a bit more hoppy and sweet on the tongue than the style usually averages.   Its also very bubbley/spritzy on the tongue.   More hoppy than others for sure!   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes like a soft hoppy Schwarzbier, that is a bit too overcarbonated.   Doesn’t have that typical schwarzbier mouthfeel or finish.   Okay, but certianly different.   Does it makes sense to say it seems more like an Ale than a Lager?

Pours a darker color with a fluffy white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is weird with a light metallic "twang". Taste is fruity and roasted, not a fan. Body is light. Not sure about this one...

bottle @ cascade + upright tasting sessions - thanks to all. pours light brown-reddish with an abnormal towering off-white head, good retention and lacing. roasted fuitiness, metal, bit of ash, chalk, vanilla, grass. prickly to moderate carbonation, light body. assertive and almost disturbing citrusy-grassy-ashy finish. DP.

Bottle (750 ml). Shared by hoppypocket, thanks! Brown with a frothy moslty lasting beige head and good lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt, fruity esters and caramel. Light metallic presence too. Taste is of roasted malt, chocolate, light fruits, light caramel along with a light but disturbing metallic presence. Light body. Moderate carbonation. Subpar beer for Upright.

750 ml bottle shared with Tom and chums around bonfire. Can’t read half of my notes because of it. Christ. Pours black with a resilient beige head. Aroma is metallic, fruity, raisin. Flavor is fruity, roasted. A bit of metal in the finish. Actually, make it too much. Can’t make out much more...light body, average carbonation. Yeah. This sucked. The rating, I mean. The beer was alright.
