COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION Dear friend of the brewery Shawn Bowman is releasing a very cool book titled Criminal Crafts and Upright produced a special beer for the occasion! The Criminal Crafts Barley Bock is essentially an all-barley version of a weizenbock. An extra robust recipe produced a deeply malty beer with light spicy notes coming from the classic weissebier yeast used to ferment the beer in our open tanks.
Tap @ Upright... Poured a copper, rusty reddish hue with a thin, off-white head. Nose had a bit of yeast on it. Ashy, chalky, toasted grains, some malt sweetness and mild dark fruit tones. No hop air alcohol flavor, but fairly yeasty tasting. At least to me for the style.
