Five is a farmhouse pale ale that was born after enjoying a few small production European brews that use a heavy hand of hops. Ours blends several Mt. Angel grown varieties to create a deep and complex flavor with an underlying earthiness. Pale fruit aromas created during the fermentation brighten the profile and bring the beer balance.
Malts: organic pale,organic caramel
Unmalted: rolled barley
Hops: willamette, liberty, perle
Also: xanthohumol (bottles only)

750ml bottle from www, craftbeerkings.com. Poured a hazy honey brownish/deep gold body with a HUGE crystal white head. Aroma is fruity, tropical fruits, lime, tangerine, lemon, bubbke gum, sugar, Belgian yeast, dough. Flavor is slightly less sweet and a touch more grainy but overall nice. Mouthfeel is delicate with a light body and soft carbonation despite the huge head. The HUGE head is distracting simply because you get a mouthful of foam instead of liquid every time you try to take a sip. This is still a really nice beer but could have been great.

Bomber brought back from Portland. Pours a hazy, dark straw color with a white pillowy head. Nose is light fruit, some citrus, sweetness. Taste is fairly complex with layers of light fruit, some light hop bitterness and finishes with a nice malt character. Very nice saison.

Keg at The Grove, Huddersfield. Hazy orange shade. Nice white head. Nose is spicy, creamy vanilla. Taste has a nice fruity character. Apricot, tangerine and jammy berries. Slightly tangy and resinous. Very nice but I expected a little more from it.

On keg at the Grove, Huddersfield. Previously had it out of a bottle and enjoyed it more, so maybe this keg is a bit old/oxidized. Dry, crisp, light, crushable saison. Bit of ashy lemony incense. Peppery and well balanced. Nicely done.
