Five is a farmhouse pale ale that was born after enjoying a few small production European brews that use a heavy hand of hops. Ours blends several Mt. Angel grown varieties to create a deep and complex flavor with an underlying earthiness. Pale fruit aromas created during the fermentation brighten the profile and bring the beer balance.
Malts: organic pale,organic caramel
Unmalted: rolled barley
Hops: willamette, liberty, perle
Also: xanthohumol (bottles only)

From tap at De Molen during Borefts ’15. Aroma of fruits, citrus, some yeasty notes, floral, hoppy notes. Flavour is lightly sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Not big on Saison funky yeast, but it has a refreshing bitter fruity hoppy character. Very nice.

Keg at mother Kelly’s. Translucent deep orange coloured pour with a lasting off white head. Aroma is semi sweet floral fruits, Brett funk, apricot jam, slight sour edge. Maybe a little hibiscus on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts base, little bread, peach, floral, and maybe a bit of Brett. Really nice saison yeast expression. Palate is semi sweet, moderate airy carbonation. Firm slightly earthy citrus hop bitterness. Very enjoyable.

Bottled. Pours golden with an average white head. Aroma of caramel, herbal, woody, earthy and mild spicy. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and slightly bitter. Light to medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Saison. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a huge white head. Aroma is straw and hay with a big juicy fruit. Flavor is more a rustic musty and earthy herbal. Finish is more if the fruit aspect. Citrusy and a bit spicy with a large prickly carbonation. This is a pretty solid saison.

Visual: Pours translucent dirty orange with a MASSIVE super-long-lasting ultra foamy head with sticky lacing, countless fine micro streams. Nose: white grape vinegar-pukey citrus but not offensive. (lvl-4)-pungency Attack: fruity full-bodied, alcoholic hit Mid-palate: tangy-acidity, (lvl-5)-sweetness, (MAIN) elderflower, peach, apricot, barley malts, bready sweet Finish: dry hoppy soft bitter, lingering malt finish. Summary: I have not seen such a beautiful head like this in a long time. I have not tasted such unique and agreeable flavours in a long time. All-around quality.
