COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flora Rustica is a Northwest-style saison that use yarrow and calendula flowers along with a handful of our favorite Oregon grown hops to produce a strongly aromatic beer. It’s very sparking and dry and makes an excellent aperitif as well as an interesting companion for certain foods like herbaceous and bitter salads or strong and fatty fish like mackerel.

Bottle shared at Josh’s Farewell Hoorah - thanks to Kennybobs, 20/02/14. Hazed orange amber with a good sized off white head that retains well and eventually dissipates to a covering. Nose is lemon rind, peach, bitter orange, floral notes, tarte white berry fruit, light spice. Taste comprises floral notes, earthy citrics, straw, light herbals, orange pithdom, light bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi dry close. Decent saison but not top draw.

Bottle shared in London for Josh’s Farewell. Big thanks to Kenny for this one. Pours cloudy gold with a big, webby white froth head. The aroma holds light doughy malts, some citrus, lemon-lime. Medium sweet flavor with biscuity pale malts, a bit of wheat, hay, flowers, orange meringue, light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish, further doughy wheat, sugary citrus fruits, mild hay and floral bitterness. Very tasty though not especially complex.

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours cloudy dirty blonde with a thick off-white head. The nose is fresh, floral, light tartness, herbaceous, dough and hay. The taste is crisp, bready, wood, earth, hay, dull tartness, spice, bitter chard and citrus rind with a dry finish. Medium and moderate carbonation. Alright saison, but not outstanding.

RBWG14 Trip Rating #62. Bottle shared at the Friday Night Downtown Inn Bottle Share. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of tart, bright citrus, herbal notes, pale malts, yeast. The taste is intense herbal notes, stone fruits, herbal hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle via Joe. Pours an orange golden, good amount of white head. Yarrow and a dry openness in nose. Body really lively, flowers hit huge in finish fading into a grassy bitterness, crispness. Very nice.

Good floral and herbal saison. Roses, dusty peppery yeast and some very light citrus. A little thin without a lot of palate but the beer is still very good.

Presumably Vintage 2012 Nice turbid amber with a solid 2-3 fingers of fluff. Smells spicy, some dandelion, some grain, yeast, a bit of malt and floral character. flavor is funky, water, some grain, some biscuit and a little bit of bitterness. Really empty body with moderate on hi carb. Very surprised how thin this feels. It’s an okay beer, but not nearly the caliber I expect from this brewery.

Bottle at our Thursday mini-tasting. Pours cloudy light amber with a medium white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is floral, honey, herbal. Flavor is the same with little sweetness or bitterness, but a strong floral/herbal almost perfume sense. Finish is dry. Light body, bubbly carbonation. I enjoyed this one.

Hazy golden color, lots off foam, good lacing. Very perfumey, flowery. Like delicious soap? Flavor is nicer, a little bitterness, a little sweet. Still, hard to get past the perfume like notes. Interesting, but not a favorite by any stretch.
