My Bottom Line:
This perfumy, floral Saison quenches with its dry rusticity, citrusy fruitiness and herbal bitterness, an intricate flavor profile delivered by the soft effervescence inherent to the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam coats the hazy straw blond.
-A little more pils malt character and this would be absolutely world-class.
-This was less bitter and less sweet than Southampton’s Cuvée des Fleurs which we had just before. Both were amazing brews.
-Some tartness accompanies the citrus fruit character.
Bottle; thx Stephen!

In short: A nice smooth, floral and moderately wild Saison.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed relatively fresh a few months after the beer release. Sent to me by after4ever. Thanks a lot Tom.
The look: Cloudy dark blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose of old living room carpet, banana yeast esters, floral hops and camomile. Taste is tropical fruits, lemongrass, hay, dandelions, lemon muffin, medium wildness, garden flower petals juice. Nice full cushiony body with a smooth carbonation. This beer is not intense beer. It is a smooth session beer that offers a lot of complexity to those who take the time to dig into it. Another super nice Saison. I love Saisons! I love Beer! My girlfriend hopes that I will love children as much as I love beer. I hope not, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life in jail.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 callmemickey (1355) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 10, 2010
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 A: Orange-apricot body with a massive white head. The body is a bit cloudy and the head is thick and fluffy with superb retention. Sheet like lacing down the glass from start to finish.
S: Rich floral/herbal notes up front. Fresh grass, tea like notes from the flowers, a bit of funk, and a nice green apple tartness in the back end. Truly impressive.
T: I’ll be honest, the first sip was a disappointment. I think I spent so much time sniffing the beer my tastebuds weren’t quite ready for what was to come. With each progressive sip layers of flavor emerged. Grass, earl grey tea, flowers, some spice, horse blanket, green apples, honey, lemon.
M: Smooth, light bodied. Perhaps a touch thin for the flavor profile. Good carbonation. Clean, refreshing finish. Nice low ABV saison.
O: This is a f’ing impressive beer. When it comes to floral saisons it manages to outclass the incredible Southampton Cuvee de Fleurs... I have a bottle of Four and Seven in the fridge... if they come anywhere near this I will have to consider moving to Portland.

750ml bottle from tom...gonna keep this short due to a memory rating but this was one fantastic saison type beer.... poured a mostly hazy golden lemony-brown with a soapy white head.... aroma was of the floral and citrus variety, lighly spiced and very refreshing.... flavors were a continuation of the same with more prominent citrus and apricot fruit notes combined with just the right amount of hoppy bitterness. carbonation was perfect along with a light to medium body and finishes on a very nice dry level. a very nice beer for the warm summer months. i would like another one for sure.

750ml bottle. The pour yields a hazy, glowing, golden-amber tinted body with a tall, billowing mass of rocky, off-white froth. Excellently retained, the foam takes forever to settle, leaving thick, cloud-like clumps of lacing all over the glass. In short, it’s truly a thing of beauty. The nose is like a breath of fresh air, enticingly soft, delicately spiced, and expertly crafted. Clean, almost creamy cereal grain malt provides a subtle backdrop for notes of lemongrass and softly peppery wildflowers. There’s just a wisp of citrus rind there for acidity, while dry, doughy, slightly minty yeast keeps things sharp enough to make the mouth water. Flavors don’t disappoint, proving equally prodigious in construction. An initial lemony crispness provides the dry acidity needed to cut through the richest of foods, followed up closely by soothing, lightly sweet notes of graham cracker, cracked wheat, and ultra-fresh cereal grain. With the finish comes the dry, zesty wildflower spice, as well as that somewhat minty yeast character that is becoming an Upright calling card. The palate is initially creamy yet appropriately light, with a soft but lively carbonation and a dry, tingly endpoint. This is a stunning beer. Fans of Fantôme Pissenlit will, I dare say, find this to be a marked improvement over that classic brew. Drop dead gorgeous stuff that I only wish were more readily available.

Gusher 750 in Vegas with WeeheavySD. Fluffy head condenses to thick gooey head. Hazy amber. Nose is sweet and yeasty tart. Lemon citrus. It’s like drinking carbonated lemon spicy soda water, but in a really good way. Crisp and light and lemony and spicy. Yeasty clean dryness. This is the world’s best lawnmower beer. Light and refreshing and clean and dry. Very nice.

750ml from todd, thanks hannont shared with lagunitasfan in vegas. Pours orangey with a bubbly tan head. Nose is nice and floral. Taste is pretty nice, and sometimes for me a lot of floral saisons are too floral, this isn’t, this is floral and wonderfully refreshing.
