COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flora Rustica is a Northwest-style saison that use yarrow and calendula flowers along with a handful of our favorite Oregon grown hops to produce a strongly aromatic beer. Itís very sparking and dry and makes an excellent aperitif as well as an interesting companion for certain foods like herbaceous and bitter salads or strong and fatty fish like mackerel.

750ml bottle thanks to americanbrew. Clear golden pour, lots of fluffy head. Nose of earth, sweet grains, and funk - flavor is spice, grains, and Belgian yeast.

Where the Wild Beers Are, 2012. An unusual aroma of flowers with yeast, and also basil and oregano. More yeast in the aroma, mildly sweet. A cloudy orange beer. The flowers work very well.

Now this is nice. First really nice saison Iíve had in a while. Aroma is floral but also yeasty, and a note of sweetness and lemon. Apperance is a bit cloudy with a white head that doesnít linger very long. Taste is sweet/ tart and a backend of bitter and floral. Palate is thin/ dry. Overall this is flavorful and easy drinking. A really nice refreshing saison.

bottle... murky medium gold, lots of copper, nice big bright white head... the aroma is to herbaceous for me, lots of aloe and eucalyptus, honey and floral finish, unique and good but not my thing... the aroma is very different, malty, less bitter flowers, aloe becomes more of an accent, lotion finish... ok but I canít drink much of this

Bright orange in color with a tall off-white head. A nice floral note to it, maybe some fruit notes of apple and pear. Some grass and yeast, plenty of biscuit malts, maybe white pepper. A more bready flavor than I imagined. Doughy biscuits with lots of cracker. Still heavy on the apple, yeast, and white pepper.

Pour thanks to Scott at his tasting! Pour was nice hazy orange-yellow with white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, biscuit, dry tart lemon, orange, citrus oils, going into nice sweet and tart floral notes, hints of spice in there as well. Taste was a nice combination of tart lemon and citrus notes with some sweet white fruit with some peach, pear, going back into tart and sweet floral notes, finishing dry. Nice stuff.

750 ml bottle shared with Doodler and company poured a hazy gold with a small lasting offwhite head. Aromas of straw, floral notes, citrus and a hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, earthiness, citrus, light floral notes and light barnyard with a crisp dry lingering funky finish.

Bottle with Doodler and Co. Thanks everyone! Hazy golden yellow appearance with a white head. Floral, mild orange citrusy, rose, hibiscus, lemon aroma. Mainly floral, tangy, orange citrusy, dry flavor.

(750ml bottle thanks to AmEricanbrew) clearish gold with a big voluminous head and excellent lacing. Nose of raisin, earthy grain, sweet malt. Taste of grains of paradise, dry grain, low sweetness, watery, lacking in flavor in general. Maybe it was old, not sure, but given the high ratings and my previous affinity to Uprightís beers, I think I need to try this again.

This pours a rusty gold color with a thick off-white head. Pretty good retention and lacing. The aroma initially is rather floral. Iím thinking rose and/or dandelion but it definitely has that wildflower smell. Grass, dusty funk, orange blossom, peach, and yeast all mix into a very nice scent. This is really my kind of Saison; light and refreshing but with so much seemingly going on. There are some sweet fruity flavors of melon and lemon and perhaps other tropical fruit, flowers, with a crisp dry spice thatís assertive but not overdone. Slightly tart yeasty notes gives this some light puckery funk but with a pale malty grainy sweetness to balance. I like how everything blends in here as I canít pinpoint anything thatís out of place. Nice one.
