COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Flora Rustica is a Northwest-style saison that use yarrow and calendula flowers along with a handful of our favorite Oregon grown hops to produce a strongly aromatic beer. Itís very sparking and dry and makes an excellent aperitif as well as an interesting companion for certain foods like herbaceous and bitter salads or strong and fatty fish like mackerel.

750. Pours a light slightly hazy golden with small white head. Aroma is really nice floral spicy, some honey and herbal notes, orange light citrus. Flavor starts sweet with lots of floral notes, slowly giving way to the spice and northwestern hop character into a dry and lightly bitter finish. Medium body and sharp carbonation. Excellent beer

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks zvikar. Hazy yellow with a small head. Spicy and herbal aroma with strong calendula and yarrow notes and some fruitiness. Sweet with mild medicinal and herbal bitterness, light fruitiness. Interesting, but a bit messy.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stasís place. Thanks zvikar. Hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma of floral spiciness, yeast and some fruitiness, sweetish flavor with yeast, lots of floral spiciness, some fruitiness, some malt and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. Not my thing.

Spicy yet delicate belgian yeast fragrance, slightly banana-y. Flavor is perfect for summer, herbacious flower taste and spice on the finish. Super sessionable.

750ml Bottle pours a very hazy pale brown/yellow color with a lot of frothy head. Wow. Amazing balance of flavor. A little marmalade, mild sweetness. Love the way it looks. I've got the barrel aged version to try too, and can't believe it could be better than this.

Hazy blonde, very spicy/peppery aroma, herbal, very peppery character. Sweet pale malts and low bitterness. Complex, very nice balance as usual. Good herbals, off-dry finish.

750ml. Pours a lovely straw yellow. Hints of grain and summer flowers on the nose. Flavors lean towards beautiful touches of calendula, hay, a bit of barnyard grains, tender sweeter malts, and finishes with a really pleasant grassy note. Damn good light stuff!

At upright with Taylor, Stephen, and Dina. Pours yellow hint of orange with thin head. Aroma is tangy orange hay zest. Taste is big raw barely and raw wheat grain grass note, some lemon peel bitter notes but not citrus. Nice and drinkable, strong grainy grassy backbone.

Sample @ RBWG, Asheville. Amber pour with a small head. Accent of minty herb. Some lemonade and fruit squash. Taste is earthy. Molding lemon, herb-steeped tea. Light and summery, nimble on the palate. Another winner from Upright.

Bottle: pour is murky light gold, with a frothy white head into this glass. This is sticky as hell, and It retains well here. The nose is herbal spice initial, a touch of juniper, florals, grassy notes, with a touch of sweet bread presence. I have no experience with the flora used in this beer but I do know that this is a nice saison. Itís spicy initial., with wintergreen and lavender, moving to grass and floral, mild sweet, with a bittering and dry finish.
