COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Four is truly a light yet flavorful beer. The recipe uses a good portion of wheat and incorporates a sour mash into the process to make it slightly tart and extra refreshing. It has delicate aromas and flavors that span a range of floral, grassy and herbal notes. The finish is extra dry and makes the beer a great beverage to pair with food, especially various cheeses and shellfish.
Malts: organic pale, organic wheat, organic munich
Unmalted: rolled wheat
Hops: hallertauer mittelfrüh

750 ml bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours tiny hazy golden with a huge frothy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky soapy lacing on the glass. Smell is tiny fruity and slightly spicy with crackers, lemon zest, orange zest, lemon balm, tamarind, hay, white pepper corns, dry soil and unripe peaches. Taste is tiny bitter, tiny fruity and tiny spicy with crackers, unripe tropical fruits, citrus zest, dry soil, dry wood, black and white pepper corns, allspice, grape skins, cloves, tamarind, hay, lemon grass, lemon balm and lime juice. Mouthfeel is crisp, dry, sparkling and light bodied. Finish is bitter and spicy witch crackers, black and white pepper corns, dry soil, dry wood, grape skins, citrus zest and unripe tropical fruit. Great table beer!

Bottle: Soft yellow with plenty of haze. Obnoxiously large frothy head that takes what seems like forever to subside. Gentle nose is light and refreshing. Good amount of balance between the florals, earthy and herbal tones, as well as yeast. Soft mouthful for the style, with a lively finish. Elements of grain, florals, and yeast. Really enjoying the way the yeast comes in at the end with a zing. Refreshing.

This one poured a semi cloudy light yellow color with a white head. Aroma was grassy, lightly earth, crackery, and musty. Flavor was very dry and refreshing, light spice, mildly tart, and cobb webby musty taste. Nice saison.

Bottle with Hayden, Mike, and Bill notes are grassy herbals, lemons, bretty funk, and hay pile. On the lighter side. I could session this but its a little bland.

Bottle and tap. Another great standard saison, yet leaning more on the grassy side. Yum.

Gusher. Pours hazy gold with off-white head. Aroma is wood, lemon. Flavour is earth, fruit, grass. Very dry finish. Seemed lacking so we brought out some cheese and crackers, then it made sense. I wouldn’t recommend drinking this on its own.

Mmmmmm a light fruity yeasty smell. A glowing gold active appearance. Tart, with a dry mouth feel and ends so refreshing. For this early summer day it is perfect!

75o ml bottle. A very hazy dark blonde beer, with a large, frothy/fizzy, lightly lacing, mostly lasting, white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread, hay), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with notes of lemon/lemongrass, hints of banana, pepper and pinepple. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery/velvety texture, fizzy carbonation, average finish with almost medium bitterness. Pretty good and sessionable light beer. Pretty fresh aroma, considering my expectations. Not a bad balance. A bit on the thin side and fizzy and head and lacing are not extremely elegant, but those are minor points. Overall good.
