COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Four is truly a light yet flavorful beer. The recipe uses a good portion of wheat and incorporates a sour mash into the process to make it slightly tart and extra refreshing. It has delicate aromas and flavors that span a range of floral, grassy and herbal notes. The finish is extra dry and makes the beer a great beverage to pair with food, especially various cheeses and shellfish.
Malts: organic pale, organic wheat, organic munich
Unmalted: rolled wheat
Hops: hallertauer mittelfrüh

750ml capped bottle pours a golden yellowish color with 2 fingers of white head which left some really nice lacing. Aroma is lemons and grass with a hint of herbal hops. Taste is light citrus with some malty sweetness and a herbal hoppy bitterness in the finish. Also getting some hints of yeast. Light body and modest carbonation. This is a decent wheat ale.

Tap at Upright - turbid gold beer - nose is lemony and wheaty, with light phenolic notes, honey, pear - creamy mouthfeel - light phenols up front (banana, clove, peppery), followed by tangy wheat - some crisp, flinty, mineral character - lightly acidic finish - fruity hallertauer finish - like a cross between a saison and a hefe - tasty.

Bottle: The aroma consists of orange, lemon, light honey, and some spice. It pours a cloudy golden-orange with a large white head with excellent retention and spotty lacing. The flavor starts with a quick dose of orange and some faint yeast. The finish has light lemon, lemon peel, and a hint of spice. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, incredibly refreshing and I could drink this all day if it was an "affordable" session beer.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2011 Courtesy of Pailhead. Hazy golden, huge rocky white head, sticks around a while. Floral, dusty, cereal, light citrus, lemon, lacto. Flavor falls a little bit short of aroma, dusty malt up front, light lacto, floral, citrus, dries out nice through the finish. Billowy mouthfeel, silky. Great session brew.

750ml bottle. Slight skunk, tart, lemon, pilsner malt, spicy, earthy. Touch oxidized, but still good. Would like to taste again when fresh.

Bottle from a trade with 5000. Pours cloudy straw color with white head. Grassy, floral hop aroma with doughy yeast. Wheat is apparent in the flavor. Grassy and bready with a sllight tartness. A little dry. Light body with moderate carbonation. I could drink this all day long. Thanks Andre.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours a dark copper color with a medium white head. The aroma is a funky dry, almost lambic note. A sweet flavor with some interesting aspects of bandaid (this must be the wheat), funky, some light fruity hops. Very full flavored. Kind of reminds me of a Golden Ale.

Thanks to Ethan for sharing this bottle! Man, another killer saison from these folks. Would that they were cheaper and more available (yeah, right) as this would be a monstrous session beer. Cloudy pale orange with a big assertive head that rises in lovely shapes and leaves tons o’ lacing. Herbal and dry as fuck in the nose, and the Hallertau hops are strong. Didn’t get quite as much fruit to taste as my pals did, but it’s certainly there. Maybe that’s just because I love dry and spicy so much that I concentrated on those dimensions. Really yummy.

Bottle shared by emacgee. Pours hazy yellow/orange with a soft white head. Nose is earthy and grassy, with loads of peach and some tart fruits, including green apple. Similar taste. I love this kind of low-ABV saison.
