COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Four is truly a light yet flavorful beer. The recipe uses a good portion of wheat and incorporates a sour mash into the process to make it slightly tart and extra refreshing. It has delicate aromas and flavors that span a range of floral, grassy and herbal notes. The finish is extra dry and makes the beer a great beverage to pair with food, especially various cheeses and shellfish.
Malts: organic pale, organic wheat, organic munich
Unmalted: rolled wheat
Hops: hallertauer mittelfrüh

Bottle thanks to chad. Pours with a huge, rocky white head and a murky golden body. Aroma of spice, coriander, dryness, fruit, wheat, lemon. Taste is orange, tea, light umami, and a tartness. Somewhat spicy. Very effervescent.

Draught Lemon yellow, hazy beer; fast gone white head. Spicy, yeasty, meaty esters, citruspeel, coriander. Lemon, coriander-ish, certainly held in check. Very light, thinnish with some wheatslickness. Light, not overspiced wit-saison.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2010 My Bottom Line:
Minty hops, straw-like wheat and subtle herbs swirl into a lightly tart finish for a quenching, humble Saison.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the cloudy blond.
-The body is very light and thus very drinkable.
-Citrusy fruitiness also increases drinkability.
-Every flavor is well integrated, yet few stand out.

Bottles.

750 capped bottle from Whole Foods PM. Pours turbid bright gold with frothy well retained white head. Nose is wheaty and pale malty, with notes of florals, white peppery spice, hops, and mild yeasty funk. Tastes floral, a bit tart fruity, with some funky yeasty, white pepper and coriandert spice, hops, and a dry tart finish. Comes off like a Berliner weiss/saison hybrid.

2011-01-28. Hazy pastel golden body, small foamy off-white head and lace. 3+ Aroma is lightly funky, floral, yeasty, lemon, grass. 7+ Flavour is pleasant, with a crisp grassy-straw like hop character, pleasantly bitter. Slight sourness to it. Lemony finish. 7+ Smooth average bodied palate. 3+ Enjoyable saison. Bottle at Volo, Toronto

Bottle @ ZZT 8 shared by Ansjelaah. Clear pale golden color, foamy white head that diminishes quickly. Smell and taste lightly malts, quite fresh, slightly hops, lightly fruity. Thin texture, average body, fizzy carbonation.

A solid saison, it has a nice herbal character, not too sweet, refreshing for the summer.

Courtesy of sebletitje. Pours hazy deep gold with thin white head. The aroma is full with grains, honey, lemon acidity and herb-y spices as well as bits of wheat and yeast. The taste is effervescent across the palate punctuating notes like yeasty spices, lemon, graininess, herbaliness, mild tartness too, wheat and a thin layer of yeastiness. Darn tasty stuff.
