COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Four is truly a light yet flavorful beer. The recipe uses a good portion of wheat and incorporates a sour mash into the process to make it slightly tart and extra refreshing. It has delicate aromas and flavors that span a range of floral, grassy and herbal notes. The finish is extra dry and makes the beer a great beverage to pair with food, especially various cheeses and shellfish.
Malts: organic pale, organic wheat, organic munich
Unmalted: rolled wheat
Hops: hallertauer mittelfrüh

Murky light gold with an ample white head. Herbal, bright aromatics. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Lemon zest on grains and herbs. Amazing length for such a light beer.

750mL Bottle. Thanks for sharing, Sean! This beer is for me. God’s water. Not my first Upright beer, but close, as it’s my first Upright bottle. Clean, mineral and light malt aroma. Tangy, fresh, and grassy upfront. The emergent quality of this reminds me of the best, freshest chevre, with delightful tingling clean herbal qualities. It feels like delicious, thirst slaking medicine. Very, very good table beer. Wish I could drink this every day.

Elwood (3027) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2013
Serving: 750 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy, light amber color with a well sustained white head. Nice light florals in the nose along with some yeast and hay notes. The flavor doesn’t disappoint with a light citrus note, soft florals, hay, and dusty yeast notes. Complex and flavorful. Light body with high carbonation and a spritzy mouthfeel. One of the better saisons I’ve had lately.

Murky golden color with a large white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of toast, citrus, and grassy hops. Taste of citrus, light sweetness, bitter, grassy hops, tart wheat, and a dry finish. Prickly carbonation.

Appearance: the beer is a very hazy darker shade of gold, pours with a very tall off white head that settles into a nice density Aroma: lemon, yeast, grass, citrus, pine, sour, flowers, smells good Taste: sour, tart, has a bitter kick to it as well, lemon, Palate: lively carbonation, light mouthfeel, leaves mouth dry, minimal aftertaste Overall: my second beer from this brewery and I’m impressed again, very flavorful and aromatic while hiding the alcohol very well for a saison, highly drinkable, makes a great session beer

750 from bottleworks.

Golden-orange pour with a nice white head. Herbal nose, lovely, slightly lemon-tinged flavor, minerally and a bit funky, like a mellower (maltier) Avril. I can’t overstate how thrilled I am to see US brewers working on these table-saison styles. Very easy drinking, good rich flavors for 4.5% but totally a biere de table. Delicious! Exceptional.

Spicy, floral and grassy aroma features the hops with some underlying tropical fruits and a slightly tart edge. Lightly hazy golden body is topped by a fizzy white head that recedes fairly quickly to a thin but lasting cover with some sticky lace. Flavour is perhaps not as bright as the aroma suggests instead featuring fresh-mowed grass, wet hay and earthy notes to complement the tart fruitiness. Some cereal malt character in the aftertaste. Medium light body with pleasantly strong effervescence that prickles the front of the tongue. Eminently drinkable. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in May 2010.

[3566-20110128] 750mL bottle sample. Hint of grassy yeast in the aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Fresh grassy citrus yeast flavour has a good solid sour base. Medium body. Nice start to the evening. (7/4/8/4/16) 3.9
