COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pinot Barrel Four was our second batch. We took the recipe for the Four and sent the beer into some oak barrels graciously donated by La Bete winery of McMinnville, topping them up with a small amount of Oregon cherry puree along with lactobacillus and brettanomyces claussenii to encourage more acidity and aromatic complexity in the finished beer. Half of the batch was blended and kegged and can be found at a few specialty bars while the remaining half is still maturing in the barrels and will likely be bottled at some point towards the end of 2009.

Called "Cherry Four", so I hope I am rating the correct beer. Pink, Pink head. Smells tart, like cherries, then a nice balsamic vinegar note. Really good stuff - cherry, red wine, balsamic vinegar, and bunch a funky flavors.

750 ml bottle thanks to Dallas. The breast, well what a label. Truly a work of art. Pours a mostly clear golden color with a large white head. Oak and cherry, sour lacto. The flavor is sour fruit, woody, a softness from the medium carbonation and the big barrel, cherries, some funky Brett. Super drinkable and excellent. Great brew.

Bottle, thanks to Mac, 09/01/2013. Pours hazy burnt orange, thin white head fades to the surface, soapy ring of lacing. Aroma is tart, medicinal cherry, touch of caramel, vanilla, sharp funk and oak. Taste is light cherry, tart, with lactic vinegar, vanilla, slight plastic character. Medium body. Glad to have tried.
