(750ml bottle) Pours a cloudy orange-brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of herbs, caramel, horse blanket, vinous, wood, and fruit. Flavor of brett, citrus, wood, yeast, caramel, and vinous with a dry finish.

Bottle, shared by jack (thanks bro!). Batch 3, I think. Pours a cloudy mohagany with a medium sized off white head. Flavor is spicey and funky. Really interesting funky brown-nutty, funk, lots of barrel. Delish.

Bottle from Whole Foods Roosevelt.
Pours cloudy brown like unfiltered cider. Chardonnay and mulled citer aroma. Sweet-and-(a bit)-sour, in Jolly Pumpkin territory without the great JP house character. Nutty, peppery, plenty of oak. Notable heat. I was really looking forward to this one, but now I’m just trying to figure out what to do with 750 ml of it.
Addendum: Most of went down the drain, and I feel stupid for spending 14 bucks on this one.

Bottle from the brewery.
A: Latent swirling head. Brackish brown color that’s rather unattractive.
N: Heavy pie cherry, lacto, some marionberry, oak, cocoa, and caramel. Nutmeg and cinnamon. All over the place and not in a tasty, complex way.
T: Pepper spiciness, caramel sweetness. Slight sourness. Pretty nasty.
M: Medium mouthfeel. Somewhat sticky. OK
O: Honestly, this is terrible. Going to dump the bottle and find something better. It’s like an infected barleywine.

Bottle shared at the Collected Works tasting. Brown ale base is very clear - chocolatey bready malts, tending toward cocoa at times, with a winey acidity, a bit of vinegar, and cola.

750 ml bottle released in September 2013. Pours a very dark reddish brown color with a medium white head. A slightly sour big spicy nose. The flavor is dominated by spices, brown sugar, plum, some slight sourness. A bit of heat and wine from the barrel. Interesting. Nutty with big spices.

Pours murky brown with almost no head. Some lacing. Aroma is of acid, fruits, alcohol. Taste is of sourness, acid, fruits, sweetness, spices. Palate: Light-medium body. Good carb. Overall: Weird. Acid. Not really enjoyable.

Pours a murky brown with almost no head. Not too much notes on this one but it wasn’t too tasty and a bit awkard. Sour-ish/sweet, like a caramel apple maybe. Some spices that try to save the day but don’t do much to make it more appealing.

bottle @ cascade + upright tasting sessions - ’coz we’re porks. pours muddy brown with a small off-white-reddish cap, little retention. yeasty and garbagy, sweet and honeyed toasted malts along with caramel, minerals, spices, few pine needles and bitter herbs, hint of bourbon, some diacetyls. bright carbonation, light to medium body, dry grassy-peppery finish. field pour.
