COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seven is our most aromatic beer. The brewery’s saison yeast is fully expressed in the aroma with lots of fruitiness while the hops provide light spice notes. The beer has some heft mid-palette but finishes dry with a lightly lingering bitterness. Seven is satisfying on its own but pairs great with a variety of typically fragrant cuisines such as Thai or Indian.
Malts: organic pale, pilsener, organic munich
Hops: magnum, mt.rainier, hallertauer mittelfrüh, liberty

Draft at Henry’s 12th St Tavern Portland OR. Pours cloudy gold with a thin white head that fades quickly leaving nice lacing. Aroma is spice, straw, sweet caramel. Taste is spice, black pepper, sweet malt. Nice palate thicker than it looks.

Very good & dense yellow head over metallic orange beer with a fine cold haze; some lace. Spicy nose, alcohol & orangezeste, liqueurish; kind of sharp. Sharpish, citrus-spice-alcohol, exactly like the nose, if maybe more specific, and with a rather metallic bitter finish. Faintly aromatic extra fruity flavour, bit rosewater or ripe pear. Finish shows a copper taste. Medium bodied, alcoholwarming (if lightly so), slick to oily. Sharp. ish. Saison? Please don’t make me laugh.

Tap at Upright, PDX, 25/05/13. Lightly hazed pale golden with a thin off white head. Nose is lemon rind, bitter orange, light spice, farmyard, grass, straw, herbal notes. Taste comprises spice, grass, touch of booze, fruit notes, corriander, light funk, barnyard, lemon zest, herbs. Fuller end of medium bodied with moderate carbonation, a little booze in the finish. Decent enough saison but the obvious alcohol doens’t lend towards the crisp finish I expect from a saison.

Draft - Hay, honey, sweet yeast. Smells more like a strong Wit. Hay, fruit esters and Belgian style yeast. Just not my cup of tea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one poured a medium hazy orange with a white head. Aroma was light spices, caramel, yeast, sweetness, and light grassy. Flavor was similar, more like a belgian ale than a saison. A bit too sweet and caramely.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours cloudy golden with a thick, lacy, off-white head. Aroma of spices, some light fruits, pale and caramel malts, floral hops, and light citrus. Flavor the same. Average texture. A pretty good saison.

Bottle and tap. My favorite of Upright table saison series...of course, the full-bodied selection!

Bottle from Mikkeller & Friends bottle shop. Deep gold with a pillowy white head. The nose is of apricot, citrus fruits. Light orange peel and grapefruit. Barnyard funk. Yeast. The taste is mildly spicy. Peppered pineapple and grapefruit. A bit of marshmallow. Angel food cake. Soft and pillowy mouthfeel. Not as aggressive as I thought an 8% saison would be. Overall, fairly pleasant stuff.
