COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seven is our most aromatic beer. The brewery’s saison yeast is fully expressed in the aroma with lots of fruitiness while the hops provide light spice notes. The beer has some heft mid-palette but finishes dry with a lightly lingering bitterness. Seven is satisfying on its own but pairs great with a variety of typically fragrant cuisines such as Thai or Indian.
Malts: organic pale, pilsener, organic munich
Hops: magnum, mt.rainier, hallertauer mittelfrüh, liberty

Bottle at home. Pour is hazy amber with a big white head and great lacing. Doughy, grassy, bready, fruity, somewhat sweet, earthy, and spicy aroma. Taste is bread, spice, herbs, coriander, fresh-cut grass, grainy, and caramel with a light spicy bite on the back-end. Medium body with high carbonation. OK, saison, but a little too malty for my liking.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of pear, apple, white grape, banana, orange peel, bread, biscuit, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, malt, and earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of pear, apple, banana, white grape, orange peel, bread, biscuit, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pear, apple, banana, white grape, orange peel, biscuit, bread, clove, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast ester, malt, and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/yeast ester flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly slick, smooth, and lightly prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent saison style. All around great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast ester, malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Pours a murky pale golden with a big rocky white head that sustains well and holds a solid cap on the beer the entire time. Good lacing. Wonderfully aromatic scent of apricot and light fruit, bubble gum and some spiciness. Light fruity sweetness in taste at first then quickly dries out and has some grassy and earthy flavors. Spicy flavors of coriander and white pepper then some yeastiness and a bit chalky. Finishes very dry with some lingering chalky bitterness. Mouthfeel is crisp with a medium body and high carbonation. Very nice saison that uses spicy and earthy hop flavors to blend well with the Belgian yeast components.

Bottle. Thx Erwin for sharing. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, huge stable white head. NOSE: some red fruits, little fruity in general, some candy like nose? Little wood, cuberdon? Weird acutally. Citrus, fruity in general, oranges. TASTE: fruity, heavy, bitter aftertaste, some wood, citra, rather sweet, candy is faint again, somewhat creamy.

4/I/14 - 1Pt. 9.4.Fl. Oz. bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-12) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!

Clear bright orange beer, huge solid white head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity start, red forest fruits, passion fruit, peach candy, tangerines, some hay, bit floral and soapy hints. MF: lots of carbon, medium to full body. Taste: fruity start, pretty sweet, sugary, cookie dough, some almonds, soapy bitterness. Aftertaste: soapy, pretty bitter, lemony, grapefruit, something strange, sour touch, some honey, little chemical. Not bad, but the aroma creates more promises than the beer can uphold.

750 ml bottle from Whole Foods Plymouth. Pours clear deep gold with 2-finger frothy and lacy white head. Nose is floral, hoppy, hopcitric. Tastes hoppy and citric, with notes of white pepper, orange marmalade, and mild funk in the finish. This one gets more sweetness as it warms, and is a complex and enjoyable beer.
