COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Seven is our most aromatic beer. The brewery’s saison yeast is fully expressed in the aroma with lots of fruitiness while the hops provide light spice notes. The beer has some heft mid-palette but finishes dry with a lightly lingering bitterness. Seven is satisfying on its own but pairs great with a variety of typically fragrant cuisines such as Thai or Indian.
Malts: organic pale, pilsener, organic munich
Hops: magnum, mt.rainier, hallertauer mittelfrüh, liberty

Clear golden color with a small sparkly head. Rich floral aroma of honeysuckle, rose, apricot, cedar, and a hint of sour cherry. Flavor is pleasantly sour, and the finish is wonderfully crisp.

Off the tap into a pint glass. One finger of head with opaque, dark orange colored body. A fragrant aroma of orange and coriander. The taste was great depth with lemon, orange and yeast. It’s bright and sunny. The texture has a light fizz, with moderate carbonation and medium body. This is one of the better saisons I’ve had. It is complex and balanced. Find it and drink it.

On Draft at P town brewpub 2009. Aroma: Very aromatic. Lemon, orange rind and floral hops Flavor: Long citrus and lemon finish that has no harsh bitterness. Comments: This was the best of the batch with definite complexity in aroma and flavor. Outstanding on draft. I found it very good from the bottle (about 38-9 points), though not this good.

750ml bottle passed around at the September BA tasting in Austin. Many thanks to sdawson for the hook-up in our trade! Seven displays a bright tangerine body with caramel at its core. Hazy, but inviting, with a fat cap of manila foam that retains well and drapes sticky lacing all across the glass. Aroma? Spicy. Citrus zest, coriander, Soccer-Mom-fresh orange wedges, grains of paradise. Earthy, too, with a hint of funk and herbal hops. I could smell this one all day long... The flavor is as rich as the aroma suggested. Seven is inviting, but deceptively simple in its profile, with orange peel and grapefruit leading the way. Vegetal & musty mid-palate with traces of white pepper. Finish is dry and spicy, while the overall body is creamy with a medium body and perfect carbonation level. Bottom line: delicious. I would gladly have this one again. Upright is not a brewery to be slept on. Get at ’em before the uber-geeks catch wind!

Bottle at PApsø. Funky aroma, lovely complex flavour. Tangerine, rhubarb, barn yard. Dry finish, the dryness is perfectly balanced versus the fruit.

750 ml bottle courtesy of joel, thank you sir! Hazy golden color, huge fluffy white head. Aroma of dusty barnyards, lemon rind. Taste is very malty, lots of white bread, with a funky edge. Very nice.

Capped 750 from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy light orange with a creamy 4 finger near white head. Aroma is spicy, fruity, citrusy and I think lightly earthy. Hope so! Flavor is nicely sour and earthy. A little yeast/must. Finishes with definite notes barnyard. It’s not all citrus - there’s other light fruit notes, but it’s sour. Most excellent aroma and flavor.

Bottle shared by ygtsbm94. Pours clear gold with a large, frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (grain, hay, straw), average hops (grassy, citrus), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of apricot and mango. Flavor is heavy malt (grain, hay, straw), average hops (grassy, citrus), and average esters (apple/pear) with notes of apricot, mango, and tangy key lime. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation with low creaminess and a dry finish.

Hazy/cloudy amber with a huge sticky white head. The nose is quite tart. Lots of rusticity and a bright pineapple and tropical fruit character. A nice bit of fruity yeastiness. Chewy with a lot of bright herbal character up front. Malts also have a real dry rustic character. Black pepper and a fairly light minerally bitterness. A little bit of soft fruit. Fresh and fruity. Lingering dry crackery malt. Fruity with a funky yeastiness. Warming really opens it up.
