750ml bottle. Very hazy orange-yellow with a large foamy lasting white head. (This one got away from me on the pour!.) Aroma of peach, bread, coriander, funkiness and yeast. Very strong. Taste is tart with lingering sweetness and a twist of lemon. - great! Some very mild bitterness on the finish...just enough to add a touch of dryness. Mouthfeel is a little sticky after the initial rush of carbonation...not what I expected. I have had some really good beers over the last year...Blind Pig, Anchorage offerings, and others. This one is also very good. A real pleasure and worth every penny.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml bottle. Golden and not quite clear with voluptuous but overabundant head. Getting a bit of sweetness on the nose that comes through as molasses in the flavor. A bit maltier than normal for a saison but the usual peppery flavors and dry effervescent finish are there as well.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a mildly hazed golden ale with a solid top quilt of thick, large bubbled whites. Smells of green apples, grain, belgian yeast, some mild lemon and yogurt notes. Flavor is sweet, with some pear, some wort flavor, a little melon and a slight bitterness and some dandelion. Medium on light bodied with low, soft carb and a semi dry finish. I like this one, would fare well soured up (probably is and I might have had it, but just don’t know)

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Really enjoy this one. Beautiful hazy straw color. Aroma is lemon, spice, fruity. Flavor is tart, bitter, and funky with lemon and citrus flavors. Also has some nice spice, most like white pepper. Light and carbonated. I could drink this all day on a hot summer day.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
My friend up in Salem has been singing the praises of Upright Brewing’s stuff for more than a few weeks now, crowing and bragging every time she makes a visit to the brewery proper in Portland. And so when the opportunity presented itself, I decided to invest in a line of their bottles that had meandered far enough South for me to get my peasant’s hands on them. The Seven is the second of the three I’ve tried, and the first of their saison or saison-esque brews. It’s pretty to behold, with foam that plateaus up and up, creating a beautiful, marble white smooth geology, and a precariously soft precipice. In spite of a bulwark of bubbles, there is a clear, fruity and ester-laden scent of pears, raspberries, blueberries, champagne, green apples and even a light floral scent - intoxicating, and wonderful! And a sip produces a soft, low, murmuring brew that starts half-inflated and ends a wiser, shriveled and more intense version of its former self. It’s a lighter touch than the nose, with pronounced banana and soft pear notes, with a light butteriness, gentle berry touches, and a nice biscuity yeast. This is a really beautiful beer in all the senses, and really shows off Upright’s prowess with saison - no mean feat, given how little room for error there can be. But they dance on those error margins like Russian ballet dancers, with flair and gusto that belie a wonderful elegance.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cloudy, thin head, aroma is pale malt, taste is sweeter than expected, subtle tart notes, a dash if floral hops. On draught, this might be a bit young - sweet and yeasty - but you can see there’s something solid beer here.
