Six is a dark rye beer with layered flavors including chocolate, caramel, pepper, wood, cherry and tropical fruit. It starts semi-dry and smooth and finishes fully dry and tart with a small bite from the hops. The overall balance of the Six makes it easy to pair with richly prepared meats along with many harder cheeses.
Malts: organic pale, caramel, rye, black
Unmalted: rolled rye
Hops: magnum, tettnanger

(Tap) I like this one. It has some spiciness but is still quite refreshing.

Pours a deep almost ruby amber with a smaller tab head that laced. Aroma of tart cherries, spicy rye notes and hints of dark chocolate. Flavor of toasted malt, light roast, tart cherries and rye bread.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a very large light brown head on there. Nose has some roasting to it as well as caramel, and just a bit of rye spice coming through. Taste is dry up front with a bit of coffee and toastiness, then has just a hint of caramel sweetness in the finish. Interesting and complex...

Draft at the Hop Grenade. Earthy hop nose, dark Amber poir with a thick tan head (killed the keg). Malty, earthy slightly spicy saison. Nice.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy brown with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of some spiciness, some caramel and toffee malts, light floral hops, and some hints of fruity notes. Flavor the same. Average texture. A decent beer.

"Dry and spicy, and chewy and malty all at the same time. Interesting brew to say the least. Pepper, hops, sweet English brown malt, dark fruits... Quite the combo."

Pours a dark brown, with ample tan head. Aroma of dark malts and rye. Taste of cherry, malt and dark fruits. The taste is slightly bitter and complex. Not particularly smooth, this one is not my cup of tea.

Bottle bought @ bierkompass.de. Pours murky goldenish brown with a huge brownish beige head that slowly dissipates while leaving some thick lacing and trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and phenolic with rye bread, rye flour, baked pears, dried pineapple, hay, black pepper corns, leather and lemon zest. Taste is slightly sweet, bitter, malty and slightly phenolic with rye bread, mango, dried pineapple, baked pears, hay, dry soil, black pepper corns and orange zest. Mouthfeel is soft, round, very tiny tart and medium bodied. Finish is bitter, malty and phenolic with rye bread, baked pears, dried tropical fruits, black pepper corns, hay, dry soil and orange zest. A bad idea to begin with but executed in a pretty good way.
