Huge thanks to Bucketboy for bringing a limited release from what has become one of my favorite breweries. Served in a mini tulip.
Bottle 24 of 60.
Pours a medium gold color with a nice white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries a touch of light Pinot Noir with a bit of oak and moderate funkiness. The flavor is quite dry with some Brett and a very nice wine presence throughout. Light fruits and spice in the background. Body is light-medium with good carbonation and a dry, earthy, and vinous finish. Really another fantastic beer from Upright.

Pours cloudy lemon with a lighter head. The aroma is funky in the beginning and then the wild yeast aroma comes in strong. The flavor of light tart comes in with a wild yeast ending and very dry notes from the barrel.

Bottle shared at the December iteration of the Santa Cruz tasting series. Extremely pale color, white head. Grapefruit aroma with sulfuric notes. Lemon and minerals with maybe a minor wine note. Bitter, watery, and dry with extremely low carbonation. Lacking in a lot of ways.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - DEC 24, 2011
75cl bottle. This one didn’t quite carbonate in the bottle, which is too bad because it really needed some more acidity to liven things up. A little pinot character but a lot of sulfur stinking up the aroma and a pretty watery body. I like normal four but this was not a good way to treat it.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jrallen34 (3466) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 20, 2011
bottle 37 of 60... gold but a big center of ugly copper, off white head, good retention... the aroma is plain off, I’m so confused, dank, yeast and manure, a bit tart... the taste is light on the front end but the finish is weird, metallic, dank and grassy, the pinot presents as a white wine instead of red which is confusing... wanted to like this, as I’ve liked wine aged saisons, this just didn’t get it done
