Bottle... Clear golden ale with no head. The nose is tangy, woody and a touch buttery. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and lazy carbonation. The flavor is tangy - not quite tart – and offers some nice fruitiness. The tangy, lightly buttery finish leans toward the flat and mundane. The diacetyl is distracting, but not a total buzz-kill. Bottle. Pours cloudy yellow gold with quickly dissipating white head. Nose and taste of tart lemon, banana, wheat malt, light soured citrus, lactose, saison yeast and light peach breads. Body is on the lighter side of medium. Refreshing.

Nice dry tart, sour, mouth-puckering beer here. Super light and effervescent. Medium to mild funk. Nice light fruit flavor.

750ml bottle. Bottle 7 of 151... Pours a pale semi-clear orangey golden hue and topped with a semi-wispy soapy head... Aroma of lactic grain lemony socky influence. Musty with a dirty sock influence. Doesnt seem to come together as cleanly as one would like... Semi-non clean flavor profile with dirty lemony wheat. Light bodied with semi-dirty influence that imparts an incohesiveness. Sour lactic presence has its place. Not a great representation of the style - there are better ones to be had elsewhere but it was not a complete bust.

Sharply sour and buttery nose with a bit of ripe cheese. Taste is moderately sour, and lightly sweet with lots of lemon juice and honeysuckle. Decent.

Clear pale orange-yellow pour with little head. Aroma and flavor dominated by buttery popcorn. Flavor is tart and sour. Maybe would be a good beer without the diacetyl.

UPDATED: MAY 11, 2013 750mL thanks to Brainlair and ryan. Pours a flatter deep, clear orange. Little to no head. No lace. Nose is heavier diacetyl. Taste is tart and sharper Berliner Weisse lacto character but with very heavy oil and diacetyl. Lots of dairy thickness and lactic tartness. A bit too buttery. Perhaps will improve in bottle over the next year or so to clean up the diacetyl.
750mL thanks to brainlair. First one was a diacetyl bomb so let it rest for 8 months. Pours clear light golden. Light white foam. Not the greatest nose- similar to Bells Oarsman with vanilla, sour mash wheat, quite funky with mild diaper and adjunct lager. Taste is very light- mild tangerine acid. Quenching, refreshing. Palate is very nice- but watery even for Berliner Weisse with no dairy lactic finish. Still, this has improved immensely and is probably what was originally intended.

Tap @ Upright... This was far better than the regular Lactovasilios. This version a blend of barrels that once held Fantasia and Sole Comp Barrel Aged 5. A bit sharper and slightly more acidic. Vinous wine like tones with citrus and lactic acid. Refreshing and much cleaner than the straight Pinot aged version. A significant increase in quality.
