4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 GT2 (5657) - Riverslime, California, USA - MAY 10, 2013
750mL bottle #59 of 65. Thanks to cavemanlawyer. Hardest wale in my life to trade for. Fuck. Clear, bright orange pour. Medium white foam. Good lacing. Nose is ultra fresh hibiscus lemonade, fresh oranges, key lime pie. Taste is tangy, acidic, bright tangerine and pineapple juice. Very citrus heavy and bright. Lean, acidic palate. Sharper carbonation, very quenching. I mean, you Oregon people suck. Upright is clearly up there for top ten world brewery. Palate acidic, bright, very lactic. Approaching a 5 for palate but I’ve homered up upright quite enough.

Bottle number 27 of 65 at a tasting at James’s place. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Beautiful aromas of sweet floral gin and packed with juniper berries with a hint of wood and the faintest alcohol warmth. Medium bodied, soft wheat and then a bright sourness comes through. Lively, more floral gin and tartness. Really nice. Lots of complexity, super easy drinking. Loved this.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Thorpe429 (4844) - , Illinois, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Big thanks to boralyl for sending this out my way. Served in a tumbler. Clear golden-peach color. The nose is slightly gin-like with some floral and earthy nights. The flavor is a bit spicy with floral notes. Touch of pepper. Very light and crisp.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mcberko (4046) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 23, 2012
750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. The nose pulls out loads of the flowers - I can’t tell apart the two from each other, but very flowery aromatics, along with some Belgian yeast and light lemony zest. Flavour brings out the gin barrels very lightly, along with lots of the flowers, lots of Belgian yeast and some sharp citric notes. Reminds me more of a witbier, with its high citrus content. The barrels take a back seat and surprisingly, so do the flowers. Refreshing, but quite uninteresting to me. Not one of Upright’s better ones.

Bottle number 49/65 thanks to Scott for the tasting! Pour was hazy yellowish orange with white head, aroma was big notes of floral rose, fruity notes, the gin came through with hints of pine and more floral notes, even a slight hint of mint. Taste was nice and really worked well with the gin, the floral and fruity notes accentuated the pine and fruity/minty notes of the gin, where it finished fairly dry. Dug this one.
