Jokingly named by Uprightís beer titler Angelo de Ieso after our pal Vasili, head brewer at Laurelwood, this brew is a one-off barrel fermented Berliner-weisse. Itís got a pleasantly funky and aromatic nose with the characteristic sharp sour flavor produced by large amounts of lactic acid bacteria. The Lactovasilios was a small batch blend that will see very limited distribution, but expect to see it at Portlandís most beer-centric spots

On tap. Pours a yellow tawny color with very little head. Aromas of sour fruit, wheat, and peach. Flavors of nectarine/apricot, mango, and citrus all with a very light malt/wheat backdrop. Tart. Nicely carbonated. Berliner-Weisse - I donít know but very nice and refreshing. Absolutely great for the ABV.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2014 On tap at alibi. Hazy straw yellow. Aroma is brilliant sour citrus, underripe apricot. Taste is sweet and tart. Crispy, and yet leaves a good dry coating in the mouth tissues.

Cloudy pour with white head. Aroma is tart with wheat and saw dust. Flavour is light, crisp and relatively dry with a mild tartness throughout. Really digging the Berliner Weisse.

On tap at St Augustineís in Vancouver. A pale orange clouded concoction with a skiff of pale head. Sour citrus nose. A drunken palate could easily mistake this for a citrus cooler, but the subtle sour note is the difference. A great summer beer, and perfect for a mild September eve. 3.6.

On tap at Belmont. A: Semi-cloudy orange with a lazy white head. No lacing. N: Grain, biscuit, green apple, and butterscotch. Lemon zest and grapefruit rind. T: Lightly tart; mild sweetness. M: A touch oily. Body is closer to the medium range than light. Not really close to the style. O: This feels underdone, as if the lacto didnít have time to fully ingest the malt and subsequently lighten this one up. Doesnít live up to their usual standards.

Cloudy tan, tart lacto character, some sweet malts, touch of tartness, not a lot of complexity , yeasty, but at least a little refreshing.

On tap at Belmont Station Puckerfest 2013! Hazy straw-colored ale with a miniscule white head that disappears in a blink. The aroma provides oak and lots of fruity, citric acidity. Light-bodied with modest carbonation. The flavor is citric and quite sour. Crisp, tart, clean finish. Excellent true-to-style Berliner weisse

Bottle shared in Great Taste Ticket Line 2013 (Madison, WI). Thanks, Nate! Pours a hazy straw pour, good mellow glow, straw grain, some yellow. Frothy whitish head dies to a ring, laces small. Aromas offer some nice apple, sour lemons and bretty funk. Yogurty sourness, funk, and straw. Gentle oak, yogurt, funk and bigger sour fruit, crab apple and lemon. Initial is lighter end of the fold, nice sour lemon kick, some orange, lactic elements. Front end if firmly sour, trailing into a mellow dry grainy middle. Yogurty, some funk, straw. Crab apples, mellow yeast, firm funk. Oak and bigger lactic sour twang. Some cheesecloth and funky elements into that backend, lots of cheese, funk, and twangy sour finish. Really impressive front end, fruity and rich with good sourness, gets really cheesy for me as we finish up. Pretty solid.
