COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rose City Seven is a special single cask batch of Upright’s year-round strong saison that was aged on a mix of hibiscus, rose hips and rose petals in a former Pinot Noir barrel. The finished beer, which yielded barely over four kegs, has a strong floral aroma that blends with Seven’s natural citric and spicy character.

Our entry to the organic fest this year. It spent several months in a barrel that housed our Billy the Mountain Old Ale which uses a strain of brettanomyces called claussenii, giving the beer a gentle acidity and some earthy notes to contrast the big floral component coming from hibiscus, rose hips and rose petals, all of which were added directly to the aging beer.

Bottle with a huge thanks to BoFnJackson. Upright does it again. I feel like Oregoners are reverse homering everything. This beer along with BA Flora Rustica are two of the best funky saisons ever. Super citrus forward with notes of lemon and lime and flowers and berries. Rustic dirty and funky with a great tartness. So glad i got to try this. I actually preferred it over Convivial Suarez side by side.

Flavor explosion, stems. So many stems. Tons of flowers and rose flavors. Tart and richly complex. Absolutely amazing

Pours bright copper amber with a decent white head and orange hue. Aroma brings that funky sweet yeast and acetone that I love on wild bottle like this. There is also a floral sense to it nicely blended in as well. Flavor is just as fantastic, bringing tart floral notes, literally flowers, zingy zest ending we’ll the palate. Fantastic!

Sampled @ Dak’s Black Friday tasting. Generously Shared by Dak! Golden tangerine pour with an ivory cap that left significant lacing inside the glass. Quite floral nose with fresh baked sourdough, pepper, honey, and lemongrass showing. Spicy, slightly funky, earthy, fruity, and again floral in flavor as well. Extremely refreshing. Really good brew!

750ml capped. Hazed orangish tinted golden with big tight head that settles down. Tart lemon, slight barrel, slight sweet floral, touch of white pepper and a hint of honey. Tart lemon and brett up front, moves into some tangy/sweet floral notes that don’t over power, does battle with the brett a bit. Finishes with tartness and linger soft floral character. Interesting and good.

Definitely get rose petal fruity notes almost berry like on the nose soft tanginess. Fruity barrel wood is there a little wine like. Hazy orange pour nice creamy white head and lace. Great looking. Tangy citrus and funky sourness. Little basement notes. Very soft rose petals underneath. Lingering wine barrel fruitiness. Tangy woody barrel finish. Nicely carbonated. Solid beer. "Meh" (Jon, 2006).

Bottle. 27/120. Pours a slightly cloudy orange copper color with a light white head. The aromatics include florals, spice, a little funkiness, and slight fruit. Medium mouthfeel. I don’t really pick an overwhelming barrel flavor but I think it imparts some of the earthy type notes. Fruit. The flowers really add some flavors. Tasty.

Pours a hazy golden with a light white head that leaves good lacing, Aroma is really nice with hibiscus and rose being felt. There are also some unidentified vegetal notes in there. Taste is really balanced between sweet and sour, feeling almost juicy. Overall this is a really great and perfumey beer, a masterful act!

cascade + upright tasting sessions - thanks to all. 86th bottle out of 120. pours hazy golden with a nice white head, some retention and lacing. dusty bretts and saison yeast, apricots, flowers, rose water and orange blossom, light bourbon notes, fruity and spicy, bit of sweetness - honey and vanilla. moderate carbonation, light to medium body, warming. subtle and craftfully made. excellent!
