Bottle shared by Haggerty. Pours orange amber with a thick beige head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a pleasant uncarbonated nutty wine-like flavor with a bit of oxidation and a lot of oak. Nice and sour.

Tasted on 2/8/14 from a 750mL bottle at the hotel after the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours clear dark yellow with an average white head that slowly recedes to a thin collar of lace. The nose is lactic tart with a dessert wine golden raisin, touch of heat, and some vanilla barrel. The flavor is lightly tart lemon up front, moving to all of the sweet golden raisin dessert wine, caramel, and vanilla with some added coconut. The body is full with light carbonation and a long dessert wine and oaky finish.

Bottle sample at some point during the madness that was RBWG, Asheville. Light brown pour with a small head. White fruits on the nose. Japanese melon, golden raisins and pear. Oaky vanilla and yeast. Similar flavor. Silky and easy to drink. Just a touch of tart lemon and vinous white grape. Driftwood. Light and supple for the ABV. Great.

Taster at RBWG 2014 grand tasting - thanks to the person who shared this! Orange amber caramel malty aroma. Thin ring of khaki head. Smooth, crisp, lighter carbonation. Bigger body. Spicy, smooth, citrusy zesty lighter carbonation. Bigger yeast character. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, soft, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick finish. Smooth, lighter kind of creamy carbonation. More dry finish. Very interesting sour ale. Nice floral aromas. Just a lightly spicy hot bite. Very tasty, interesting stuff overall.

Bottle at Tony/Jim BA Birthday Extravaganza 2013 (Western Springs, IL). Pours a nicely hazed orange amber hue. A more dark hazy middle with some brighter hazy orange glow on the edges. Frothy whitish head atop stays as a mellow layer, thicker ring laces ok. Aromas are tart, white grape sweetness, nectar and fruit. Some oak, vanilla and gentle spirit. Touches of lemony tartness, tart white grape, but sweeter, decent oak throws a touch of vanilla. Initial is medium bodied, perhaps a touch lighter with some nice taartness, lemony and a bit yogurty elements quickly meet some white wine, sweeter dessert element, some firmer oak, warmth grows. Some gentle tartness, a bit spritzy, sour grapes and gentle sweetness. Middle stills hits that note, tart and oaky. Backend quickly transforms with warmer spirit, wine and oak. Touches of tart apple, barrel tannins and tartness. A bit warm, but nice sourness overall. A bit bready, tannic and warm as we finish up. Strangely this is very complex and works in a very odd manner. Nice. A bith hot.

Bottle at Clockwork’s Dec 8th, 2012 Tasting. Courtesy of Clockwork, I believe? Pours a deep, hazy amber body with white lacing. Aroma is sugary fruits, yeast and malt. Mouthfeel is soft and fluffy with sweet citric fruits, sweet malts, light yeast and light earthiness in the finish. Nice.

Bottle. Pours gold with a white head. Tart fruits, close to citrus, but not quite, some woody and grainy notes, and medium lingering acidity. Good stuff.

Bottle 25 of 87 at a tasting at James’s place. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a medium sized white head. Soft fuzzy yeast on the nose, musk and sweetness. Bright sweetness, candy and lactic acid, light lemon notes. Medium bodied, almost oily texture to it, tart acid and lemon. Sweet wood, candy. Lovely, absolutely lovely.
