3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle… South Florida Throwdown 2010… Hazy straw-colored lager with a small, creamy, white head. Great retention. The aroma is very, very hoppy – a seeming potpourri of varietals. Sorachi Ace isn’t one of them, but I’m picking up lemon peel, green apple and white pepper. Light-bodied with prickly carbonation. Nicely bittered and refreshing. Low sweetness. Finishes bitter, coarse and dry. Different. Thanks go out to DA for the bottle!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A: The beer pours a pale, hazy straw color with a huge white head.
S: A weird, but not awful, aroma that is just full of apples. There is a lot of yeast and some cracker malts as well as a light pepper note. Some light grassy and floral hops, too.
T: The beer is lightly sweet with plenty of more of that green apple character. In addition to the apples, there are some other light fruits such as pears. Really weird esters on this beer... A touch more sweetness from some bread and cracker malts.
M: This beer is medium bodied with a very high level of carbonation.
O: While this is apparently a lager, the yeast profile was more in line with a lot of their saisons. A strange beer...

Gold pour with a fluffy head and spotty lace. Lemon, light spice and grass on the nose. Lemongrass, grassy hops, corn and dough. decent stab at a boring style.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
750mL from Brouwers cafe in Seattle. Clear, sparkling straw with massive white foam. Ridiculous volcanic lacing. A bit overcarbonated. Celery like nose with lemon, pear, cidery esters. Taste is extremely dry, mild alcohol bite, celery bite, long grassy bitterness. Huge carbonation. A good Lager attempt, but needs work. Less Alcohol to start. Yeast character being estery is off for Lager styles.

Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Pours a cloudy light golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is faint spice and funky grains. Saison like. Dry spice and leaves with a nice tingle over the tongue. Bitter finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
One of the more subdued offerings from Upright. Delicate with quite a few blonde characteristics to it. Dare I say plain.
