My favorite of the sampler tray. This golden yellow ale had citrus and pear notes and was pleasantly crisp. Nice small hop kick withh some saison spiciness.

On tap at Upright Tasting Room, pours a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast in the very signature Upright way, some crackers and not much else – this is very subtle. Flavour is very light and refreshing, with light yeast, very dry crackery malts, finishing yeasty and dry. Super light and refreshing, but quite a bit of flavour for 3.8% beer. Solid session saison, but nothing spectacular.

On tap at the tasting room in Portland, OR. Pours a hazed yellow colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is bready, crackery, and somewhat peppery with a good amount of yeast and a bit of an earthy hop backing. Flavor is similar. Yeasty and somewhat peppery with a bready, crackery wheat malt backing. Touches of fruit and an earthy hopping as this finishes somewhat spiced with a medium-light bitterness. Lengthy aftertaste following a slightly creamy, medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty straightforward Saison, but tasty and easy drinking. Some spice, yeast, and earthy hops balance the bready, crackery wheat malt backing. Not bad.

Tap @ Upright’s Tasting Room... Poured pale, golden-yellow with a frothy white head. Creamy, mild palate with a decent amount of carbonation. Some biscuity, wheat, cracker-malt that has some nice hop tones to carry it through. The yeast wasn’t pronounced here as I would hope. A little bit of floralness and spice before a drying finish.
