Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught at Raccas in Casper.
Pours a clear amber, small head of foam that shrinks to a ring around the glass.
Pumpkin spices in the smell, not particularly strong.
More meat, so to speak in the taste. Nutmeg, pumpkin flavours, still on the milder side but enjoyable.
Medium body and carbonation.

Itís 90 degrees and Iím drinking a pumpkin beer wtf. Nice balance, pumpkin pie filling, seasonal spices, mild earthy hops, caramel malt. Very average for a pumpkin brew. Itís a pumpkin beer in the middle of the road, not great, not bad. Iíll prolly buy it again anyways....

16oz can 2/4/15 (Whole Foods-Lamar)-Pours copper with an off white head. Aroma of pumpkin and spices. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew is well balanced and is one of the better pumpkins.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pint can. Pumpkin spice aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove with some pumpkin and caramel notes. Pours burnt orange with a half a finger of tan head with excellent retention and lacing. Starts with the pumpkin spices mentioned above with a bit of caramel. Finishes smooth with pumpkin sweetness with a bit of roastiness. Nice pumpkin.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a pint sized can. A beautiful beer, mahogany with a tan ring of bubbles. The aroma is very spicy, the standard spicing with a solid malt note. The flavor is very similar to the aroma, so no surprises. This is a well balanced beer.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2015 version, poured from a can. Orangey copper color with a beige head. Smell is muted malty bread and spices. Taste starts off with some vanilla, followed by pumpkin, a hint of ginger, and some allspice and clove spiciness. Mild bitterness throughout. Feel is pretty smooth with some carbonation, pretty full-bodied. Overall a pretty enjoyable pumpkin ale, well-balanced, but not exceptional.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Good pumpkin and spice aroma. Nice copper-orange color. Medium body. Flavor was spiced and grainy malt with pumpkin being the compliment and not overpowering. Not too sweet and balanced.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear light brown with a nice mocha head. Head craters slowly leaving some big indents in the frothy surface. Aroma of sweet molasses and honey with a bit of yeasty aroma as well. Smells a little sweet without as much pumpkin spice aromas as I would like. Good pumpkin flavor, but I would like more pumpkin spice in the flavor as I would in the aroma. Kind of one note, but not overly sweet and not overly done in any other way. Maybe higher in ABV than I would like in my pumpkin beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Lost rating from last fall. Pours burnt orange with a barely there head. Has the expected pumpkin and pie spices but also a touch of darker, roastier flavors, which is nice.
