Sugary pumpkin spice / pie and caramel malt aroma. Slick, oily, medium-full body, sweet, under-attenuated, spice and sugar-driven pumpkin strong ale. Chewy, waxy, sloppy malt that I find in Upslope stuff across the board, plus noticeable alcohol for that added punch. Grain of salt rating, I don’t like adulterated beer.

Pour is hazy orange with white head on tap at Freshcraft, aroma brought notes of some caramel, toffee, some cinnamon, clove, hints of slight pumpkin, touch of biscuit. Taste is a mix of sweet biscuit and caramel, hints of pumpkin flesh, touch of toasted pumpkin seeds, hints of cinnamon and clove, finishing fairly sweet. Not bad.

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2012 Can. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber to medium brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie), with notes of pumpkin, allspice, autumn leaves. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation, moderately alcoholic. Better than most Upslope brews at least. Aroma of sugary malts, pumpkin, and spice...pleasant with no off notes. Things fall apart in the mouth, though...it starts brutally sweet and finishes brutally bitter, which is a pretty unpleasant combination...probably a result of being under-attenuated and overspiced. Combine that with the sticky-syrupy and fizzy mouthfeel, and this is just no fun to drink.
