2005 bottle at a Max tasting. Pours a hazy pineapple with minimal white head. Rich and full aroma of apricot, raspberry, lemon, and hay. Flavor has lots of cardboard and some grapefruit-like hops. Finish has some tart peach covered by cardboard and rubbing alcohol. This was a crying shame; the aroma was a tease. This was probably good a few years ago.

Bottle. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Nice funk and a touch of acid, hay and barnyard. Rather empty. Where’s all the lovely sourness that the aromas indicated would be present? Sweet, light funk, a touch of oxidization and brett. Dry finish with a bit more brett. Not bad, but it started off very promising and then didn’t live up to it.

In bottle at beer school. Brewed 9/06, bottled 10/08. I suspect this is a good beer. I just don’t like it because it is so sour. And acidic. Trying to be a good sport here, I taste rhubarb and honey. Lovely peachy gold color with an off-white head. Smells like honey and mandarin orange.

2006 Bottle - Thanks valpoaj!! - Bottle 145/308...Pours a lt clear golden with a small white ring of head...aroma is footy funk and lemon, plenty of dust, honey sweetness, peach and vanilla oak...flavour is oak and light lemon, dirt...very little sour, like it needed more time in a barrel, but still shows bright tropical fruits and tastes nice...different than I expected, but pretty tasty...

Bottle shared by msante. Thanks, Mark. Dark amber orange pour, a solid offwhite head, laces ok. Hazy and murky. Aromas are sour, acidic with grapefruit and strawberry, grainy sour malts, a touch of cherry. Nice. Initial is lighter medium bodied, moderate sourness of lemon, grapefruit, red cherries, with a touch of brett funk, grainy malts. Medium on the palate, prickly, nice sourness. Solid domestic gueuze that really surprised me. Would love to grab another bottle or two of this.

750ml bottle I opened at DLD 2010. Pours hazy orange with white head. Aromas was tart with citrus and some funk. Flavors of citrus, acidity, yeast and some horse blanket. Had a nice sourness to it. Pretty damn solid.

Smells sweet yet sour. Taste is clean with a bit of bandage and surprisingly authentically gueuze-like..funky..no major faults other than possibly being a tad sweeter than i would prefer...but the bandage funk is nice coming from Nebraska.
